Left Wing Political indoctrination of 5yr olds

For those of you that aren't accustomed with my rants, you're in for a treat. For those of you who do remember my old posts, you've been warned.

I'm pissed off today, my kids school has been giving me the irits really bad, and then I found out that every day at before AND after school care they are performing a "Welcome to Country" ceremony to thank the long forgotten indigenous inhabitants of the area.

That was the straw that broke the camels back.

Now I've got no issue with recognising the previous inhabitants of the area, even researching and understanding their customs. But this crap is just going too far. The rubbish of asking permission to enter an area is an invention of the last few years. Its perpetuated by the university educated bleeding hearts that think the white people need to pay retributions to the indigenious people.

Now let me ask this, can you name 1 country in the world that wasn't "invaded" and colonised by another civilisation?

Are the British going to demand the French and the Scandinavians apologise to them?

Are the Aztecs and Latin Americans going to demand the Spanish say sorry?

This has really gone on for too long. The more these bleeding heart socialists keep banging on about "invasion" the longer the "wound" will take to heal.

The more we give in to the indigenous, the more they want to ask for. The indigenous population have 100% equal rights, they have absolutely no impediments to being a 100% equal member of the community. Truth be told, they have MORE opportunities than the rest of us.

This crap has to stop, and it has to stop now. Australia is the laughing stock of the world. Case in point that horrendous opening ceremony of the 2018 Commonwealth games. It was 2 hours of pandering to aboriginals instead of celebrating everything that was great about Australia.

Now before anyone goes and calls me a racist prick, go back and read this all again. I'm in no way suggesting this is a matter of racism, this is a matter of fairness and what is right. Let history be just that, History. Learn from it and move on.

Hopefully, I don't loose too many of you as followers, but I needed to get this off my chest.

Truth be told, they have MORE opportunities than the rest of us.

Can you expand on this ?

It's almost not true. There is a tiny tiny bit of gov funding that goes to indigenous specific programs. While they may technically have the same opportunities in law, it's certainly not the case in wider society. Just because they have the same legal opportunities doesn't mean society outside of government is granting them equal opportunity

Inter generational wealth- if your parents were dirt poor and now today you have legally all the same rights , that doesn't automatically put you at the level playing field.

This dynamic exists in various cultures , I will use an example NOT from the white australia vs indigenous Australia.
I was born and brought up in India , as you may very well know that India (within same race) has subdivisions of castes. The lowest rank on the hierarchical structure were the "scheduled castes" , now as of today according to Indian constitution every one is equal.
My ancestors were not on the top of the hierarchy but not on the bottom either , it would be wrong of me to just expect those at the bottom to stop bringing up history and just get on with it as everyone has same rights.

We can talk about what is the most efficient way to bring those folks along to reduce the gap in equality of opportunity ( not outcome) but simply rejecting historical context is outright ridiculous.

History is inconvenient ( for most of us) , not acknowledging is it not going to get us anywhere.

It's not "left-wing indoctrination of 5 year-olds", it's the presentation of another point of view, to which you, also, are entitled here.

I get presentation of point of view but is it still that when

every day at before AND after school care they are performing a "Welcome to Country" ceremony

That's like twice a day presentation of point of view.

I dont even remember signing the national anthem more than once a day in Australia or the Philippines.

@bearone

I bet you a lot of people will still have a problem even if it is once a day...

I have no doubt they would.

Just because lots of places where invaded that doesn't make it ok. Lots of people used to be slaves, should no one need to make up for that?

If you think that non indigenous Australians are not still experiencing the benifits of the early days then you are ignorant. We took all the best land and resources anduwe still hold and benefit from it today.

Intergenerational trauma is real. Plus people are still alive today who directly suffered.

You are right about one thing, Australia is an international disgrace, but it's because of the appealing treatment of our indigenous peoples.

Privilege exists in many shapes and forms , one form is white privilege.

I am not white but I was still much more privileged than a lot of other people in India , a lot of people can't afford to take education loan to improve their self worth to society , a lot of people are living in huts where they don't know where the food for tomorrow is going to come from.

Just because I am privileged , it DOES NOT mean everything was handed to me , I still had to work for it.
It's a relative scale and I had better cushion than most to go out and chase better opportunities.
