Boxing title fight

Who else wants to see Mundine get his head punched in ?

In what almost seems like a foregone conclusion tonight's match-up is being portrayed by most as walk in the park for Jeff Horne. Although Horne is arguably the tougher fighter if Mundine sticks to his normal tactics it could come down to a decision on points.

Horne recently had a controversial win over the Pac-man and another hard fought win over Gary Corcoran but Terence Crawford punched the crap out of him in Vegas in his last title fight. He fought bravely but was outclassed and came away from the fight looking like he'd been pack raped by a group of elephants.

If the fight is fought at close quarters it would most likely be lucky to last 8 rounds but I've never seen Mundine fight up close and personal, he tends to take a sniper approach and keeps his distance until he spots an opening, (mostly after his opponent has worn themselves out trying to get close to him. Queensberry rules is a lot different to MMA and Mundine has always used the rules to advantage which has frustrated tougher harder men in the past.

When I saw Mundine pre-fight he looked like a bedraggled homeless wino, time has been cruel to him. Jeff Horne is young, fit and close to the top of his game. I'd love to see Horne put Mundine on the canvas just for the way Mundine behaved in the pre-fight face off. It was like he was trying to win the "mental warfare" Like Connor does but he doesn't have the brain power to make it work.

I enjoyed watching Connor Mc Gregor get his his arse kicked and I hope Mundine does too. It's one thing to be brutal in the ring but the modern trend of fighters behaving like spoilt brats outside the ring is getting way out of hand.

How's your grip strength doing?

I haven't done much direct grip work for a while Matt.

I was "playing" with my kettlebells every second day or so & I got up to doing a single rep pullup at my bodyweight (78kg) + 96 kg added weight. So I still have a fairly good grip. Then I tore more ACL in my "good knee" last week so I'm taking a bit of a break ATM.

Well that was a let down, my Mrs would've given him a better run for the money. I like the way the Americans pronounced his name though - Mundane, it really suits him.
