Little Australia No Longer // Sampai Berjumpa Lagi
We said goodbye to Emily on the weekend, it was bitter sweet. She flew home to Australia on Monday.
Emily was my flower girl when I did my Deb Ball many eons ago. We lost contact and only in 2015 we found each other again, and so she came to visit, within a month of our chat. She has grown into even more beautiful little girl-no-longer but a fine woman, and stayed with us for half year.
When she returned home to Australia in 2016, little did we know that she would come back here (I mean I know am loveable, but I live in a teeny tiny town with not much to do nor see 🤣) in 2017. It's like she always came whenever Winter was here then left in Summer. So she never really got to taste Canadian Summer, things always come up that would end with her flying home to Australia, in Summer, daaaayyyuumm 😂
We both did think that we would make little Australia in this town as her brother wanted to move here as well, but plans changed, so the plan for invasion is boxed, I guess, boo-hoo 😏
We took her out for last dinner together. Sadly my 4 yo does not really understand that it would be the last time to see Emily. He kept inviting her to come to our place "tomorrow" to play together. Boys did like teaching Emily to their PS4 or Xbox games whenever she was available/not sleeping/not working 🤣
I wonder when we will see her again as she likes traveling much. Sometimes she is in India, England, USA, Fiji and who knows when or where she would be next.

Waktu jaman SMA dulu, aku ikutan debutante ball, sebuah tradisi dansa di Australia, untuk memperkenalkan para remaja. Jadi setiap remaja berpasangan pria dan wanita, berdansa bersama. Setiap pasangan, saat dipanggil ke ruangan, akan ditemani seorang gadis cilik yang disebut sebagai flower girl dan usia mereka antara 4-8 tahun, kadang ada yang 2 tahun, asal dah bisa jalan dan mengikuti petunjuk.
Nah, saat itu, flower girl-ku, bernama Emily, berusia 6 tahun. Ketika Emily berusia 8/9 tahun, kami (aku dan Emily) kehilangan kontak satu sama lain. Baru di 2015, ketika Emily sudah di umur 30 tahunan, kami "bersua" kembali berkat internet. Diapun langsung terbang ke Kanada untuk mengunjungiku dan bertemu suami serta anak2ku. Emily tinggal bersama kami hampir 1/2 tahun.
Di 2016 dia balik ke Australia. Kirian itu merupakan terakhir kali kami melihat Emily. Eeeeeh, di tahun 2017, pintu bel berbunyi. Emily muncul tiba2 🤣 Kejutaaaaan. Lagi2 dia berkunjung di Kanada cukup lama. Baru akhir pekan kemarin dia balik ke Australia, jadi hampir setahunan.
Awalnya kami mikir dia bakalan menetap di Kanada, karena dia jadian sama orang Kanada, tapi tak bertahan lama, jadi pulang deh ke Australia.
Kira2 kapan lagi yak ada orang sekampung mengunjungiku lagi. Kanada jauh euy, tapi senang, meski jauh, teman-teman Australia bisaaaaa aja muncul mendadak depan pintu, seperti jailangkung aja, datang tak diundang, pergi tak diusir....eh, apa datang tak dijemput, pergi tak diantar yah slogan yang benar 🤣

It's so wonderful to have somebody that can slip in and out of your life so easily as if they've always belonged there. Those people are few and far between, but when you find one, you know you've hit the Lottery. She sounds like a wonderful person.

Nice of you to spring her on us like that, shock city! like who's this lady? maybe you should do what she does for a career then you could travel all over the world too!
