Exercising my right for the future of my country
Yesterday, like other citizens of Malaysia, I fullfilled my duty to vote (after lining up for more than two hours) to choose the right candidate that I believe will do his or her duty well to serve the people.
Since the polling hour was closed at 5.00PM yesterday, I stayed awake till 3.00AM the next day, my eyes glued to the TV screen, anxious to know the out come of the 14th Malaysia General Election. After knowing the result that the opposition has won the Parliament seat by a simple majority and will form the next government, I fell asleep.
After governing the country for 61 years, on the 9th May 2018, the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition party has finally ended their era and replaced by a new coalition party called Pakatan Harapan. Malaysian politic is one of the most exciting political scene in Asia. I'm really sure that other countries are anxious as well to know the result after waves and waves of stories that made the headlines of every major mass media in the world about the scandal, crime theories and conspiracy theories that involves the previous government.
Nevertheless, the people of Malaysia has voted and has chosen a new government that they hope will bring this country to a greater height. I hope the previous governement will accept this defeat with a good heart, and give the new government a chance to show their capabilities for the next 5 years. It is not the end of the road for BN, this might be the perfect time for them to reflect on their previous mistakes and a chance to regroup and be even better if they are to govern next time.

Thank you for exercising your vote as a citizen @beverlyjoe . I too hope that the nation of Malaysia will be patient with the new born of Malaysia while keeping them accountable. This is the first time we have a change in the ruling government, so it is also the first time for many politicians.
Let us continue to work together, collaborate with one another, from citizen to citizen to states assembly men and women.
This is a new dawn and may we have a great moving forward, one day at a time!
