EMPOWER will NOT be doing a token sale. And here is why.

I have decided that EMPOWER shall not be doing a token sale.

The only way a person can earn newly minted Empower Dollars (eDollars) is through producing or supporting renewable energy generation.

It will be a longer route but I believe it is the correct one to achieve our long term vision.

The Problem with Token Sales

When you deliberately seek out people to fork out money to buy your token, the mindset changes completely.

They buy it not because they want to use it. Instead, too many people I meet buy it and then they can't wait to get rid of it with the hope that the token price "magically" goes up.

The original purpose of why cryptocurrencies matter is lost.

Think about it. Bitcoin, for example, exists to serve as a new kind of money.

The US dollar is money.
The UK pound is money.
The Malaysian ringgit is money.

While you do have forex exchanges that facilitate the buy/sell of these monies.

The main use of US dollars isn't so that you can buy and sell at exchanges.

You use it as money.

The Value of a Cryptocurrency

The value of all cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, must first come from utility.

Because if it isn't useful, then by definition it is useless.

The first time Bitcoin was ever used as money dated back in May 2010 when someone paid 10,000 Bitcoins for two Papa John Pizzas. The value of the two pizzas was $25 hence effectively giving Bitcoin a fiat value equivalent of $0.0025 for the first time.

The rest, as they say, is history.
