Before you continue to read the post, make sure you read the first part of the story here so you wont get confuse and lost as this post is a continuest to the part 1 of the story.

Just like in the movie, the mermaid ask the witch for a way to make her human and just like in the movie, for payment the witch wants the mermaids voice because it's the most beautiful voice in the world. Only instead of simply taking the essence of her voice and storing it in a cute little shell around her neck, she cuts out her tongue, in exchange the mermaid receives a magic potion that changes her fishtails into human legs. But there's a few stipulation to drinking this potion.

  1. The transformation of her fishtail into two human legs will feel like a sword is splitting her down the middle.
  2. Every steps that she takes will feel like she's walking on knives.
  3. If the prince decide to marry somebody else, the mermaid will simply die and dissolve into seafoam the morning after the wedding.

Apparently mermaids are not the best negotiators because she takes the deal no question asked, she doesn't even try to find a middle ground, just goes for it. She drinks the potion pretty much immediately and the prince finds her around the shore of the beach the next morning. he thinks that she's beautiful but this is where her inability to speak really screw her over.

The prince takes her into the castle and has her cleaned up but since he can't exactly have any conversation with her and because she has no idea how the human world works, he pretty much just takes care of her around the clock and because of that the love that he feels for her ends up being more platonic, closer to the way a parent feels for their child than the way a man feels for his wife. Regardless he takes her on all sorts of adventures with him, he takes her to horseback riding, mountain climbing and this just making her fall deeper and deeper in love with him but despite spending all this time with her, he just doesn't see her as a potential spouse.

Lo and behold he ends up falling in love with another girl, it turns out that when the mermaid saved him from drowning she left him on the steps of a holy temple, there was a beautiful girl living at that temple who nursed that prince back to health so naturally he fell for her. Of course the mermaid is devastated by this news, not only does she not get the prince but she's gonna die real soon.

Fast forward to the night of his wedding when they take his ship out into the ocean for a little post wedding celebration, after he and his bride pass out the mermaid goes to the edge of the ship to take one last look at the ocean before she dies. At this moment she sees her sister swimming up to the ocean surface and it turns out they have a potential solution. Her sisters tell her they got a magic knife from the sea witch and if she use that knife to stab the prince in the heart and lets his blood drip onto her feet she could become a mermaid again.

This is where things get really out there and honestly kind of confusing so buckle up.

The little mermaid is terrified of dying and desperately wants to live, even so she loves the prince more than she loves herself, and because of that she can't bring herself to kill him. She throws the knife into the ocean and jumps in shortly after, ready to just dissolve into the water at any second, but a few moments later she realized she hasn't turned into water, she's turned into air and suddenly she's surrounded by what i can only describe as angels, only their angels that who haven't actually died yet, they refer to them self the daughters of the Air, spiritual beings who travel around spreading light warmth and happiness.

It turns out that the mermaids decision to spare the prince earned her an actual shot at earning a soul, the daughters tell her that is she spends 300 years doing good deeds by their side, she'll be allowed into heaven and that's how the story ends.

So that my friends is the real story of the little mermaid, what do you think..?
