One Two Jaga : Crossroad - Poster Analysis
It is already showing everything
Maybe being too visually pampered by the ‘dark’ style of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and ‘heavily photoshopped’ and ‘lens-flared’ sci-fi posters.
Or the main casts lined up and gave the potential audience a hint of what character they play in the movie.
And with them giving you the look. The “I-am-in-this-movie-and-you-must-watch-me” look. (Personally I dont prefer this because I like to be connected to the movie by its story and messages instead of the character already establishing the relation beforehand through eye contact).
On One Two Jaga : Croassroad poster you can see it is clearly divided into two parts by color; black and yellow.
I think visually they are trying to connect us with the identity that this is Malaysian. We use the same colors for our national football team kit.
Or, it can plainly be the world that the characters be in. You see all of them in the dark silhoutte of a man holding a gun. Might be meaning theyre trapped there in a dark world of social drama.
Spoiler warning: Note that Salleh and Dato’ character is not in the dark silhoutte because they are ‘top figures’ and should not be mentioned or connected to any bad things.
Yellow can be just to add to the contrast of things or yellow is just a ‘hot’ color, indicating the movie is dealing with a ‘hot’ topic, which it does.
The arrangement of the casts expressions are perfect to me.
Although I cant tell why theres an aerial photo of a palm oil plantation overlayed lightly at the bottom of the poster.
There has been some comments about the poster so Im just sharing my two cents.

Is this really their official poster? Looks like something straight out of a steven speigel franchise.. Malaysian cinema has got lots of rooms for improvement.
Yeah its still has rooms for good stuff. But this movie is really different from the typical Malaysian movie u see in cinema. Its brutal
Brutal? how does FINAS react to it what with the censorship in Malaysia, how did they manage? this is interesting.
its one of the positive changes from the new government :) I know FINAS soon will face major re-structuring.
The movie itself talks abt the things that were forbidden from the last regime
