Event : 2 Days Mid-Autumn Festival 2018 Celebration
Last 2 weeks was the Celebration of Mid-Autumn Festival and is one of the most important event in chinese culture. This festival is the second largest celebration beside Chinese New Year. Since Mid-Autumn Fest is about lunar, the celebration will normally starts once the sun goes down.

Celebration in Labuan
Every year in Labuan Malaysia, Labuan Sungai Keling Chinese Youth Association combined with other Chinese Associations and other temples celebrate hugely every year but this year is the biggest celebration here. They organized 2 separate days with different event and venues which the first day is an opening ceremony with dinners for the needs and show performances and for the second day which is fall on Sunday, they organized a parade in town area.
What is Mid-Autumn festival?
Mid-Autumn fall on the 15th day of August in lunar calendar.
Heard of mooncake? Mooncake is the most representative during this festive and is common with the tradition of eating mooncakes during these day. Buying and eating mooncakes is only during this festive season.
Lit lanterns during the festive is also one of a notable part in celebrating Mid-Autumn festival. It symbol fertility, toy and decoration during the old days.
For the first day event, there are plenty of activities such as kid dance performances, WuShu (Chinese kungfu), veteran dance performance, singing, orchestra and lucky draws.

2nd Day Event
The parade event that was organized by the committees was a successful with an unexpected crowds. The parade starts from 7pm till 10pm at Dataran Labuan (Main Street of Labuan Island). Beside parade, there are also performances of Dragon Dance and Lion Dance by the temples, Disney’s Mascots and Clown Entertainers. Luckily that day was a fine weather without rain due to the outdoor event.
