Learning The Piano

in #teammalaysia6 years ago

The piano has widely been recognized to be the “King of Instruments”, so is the instrument really difficult to learn? This is just my short 2 cents on the learning curve posed by the Piano, speaking from 10+ years of experience playing it.

First, let’s talk about why the piano has been regarded the “King of Instruments”. This term is given to the piano as it has the widest range compared to all other instruments. This means that the piano is way more versatile in a sense that it can play higher and lower notes to annunciate which direction a piece is trying to go to.

The initial stages of learning the piano are really just the usuals, knowing the placements of hands and how to sit properly on the piano bench. The tough parts actually come after that, as there are many ways of using the piano. Depending on genre, you’d have to learn all sorts of scales and keys in order to be proficient in the instrument, other than just knowing your exam pieces (if you wish to take the exams, that is).

The piano in my opinion is really easy to pick up and to be decent at, but if one wishes to take it to the next level (becoming a virtuoso etc), the piano could easily be one of the most difficult instruments to master.
