Spamming incident
The morning, as voters started to form long queues at polling centres, my bos complaint of receiving spam calls. Upon checking the calls, he found that the calls were all from undentified numbers from the United States. He was so annoyed as these calls prevented him from contacting his colleagues out in the field. He also informed us that several of his friends received the same call too.
The Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission, which regulates the Internet, said: "Our initial investigation points to a technical cause of bots attack which is initiated anonymously from various sources with differing targets, irrespective of the political parties."
The opposition also said that some of its websites were under so-called distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, which swamp targets with traffic and disable their IT systems.
The Result
In the evening, as the election ends, we waited patiently for the result. I wanted to know the result of the election, so I waited until morning.
The Election Commisioner took a long time to announce the result, although the unofficial result were all over the social media and internet. At about 12.30 am, my friend in Mizoram, India even message in our group that he have the latest result compare to us in Malaysia. Wow..looks like all eyes all over the world were on Malaysia last night!
I saw many of my friends in the social medias were getting restless. At about 3 Am then the result came out and Yeah ... Ubah (change) is on the bright side. By then, I was so sleepy, luckily it was announced that Thursday and Friday are public holidays in conjunction with GE14.
Okay, thank you New Malaysia, its the begining of a new era and its time for me to go to sleep.
