TRAVEL MALAYSIA: One for the kids - Legoland!

in #teammalaysia6 years ago

These days, it's not just 18 year old backpackers who take off traveling the globe for a gap year. More people than ever are traveling with their children. @pizzapai and @yethui have collaborated on a feature about Malaysia's Legoland, located in Johor Bahru. If you have kids, this might be worth a visit!

Legoland is quite a new place for most people even for the locals, since it ws only completed in the last few years. Although the place still under development, but it's still worth a visit.

Besides staying at the Legoland hotel, you may also consider Aman Sari Hotel or Rose Cottage Hotel (in Eco Boulevard) which is just a 5 minute drive away from Legoland. These two hotels are located within walking distance to convenient shops and eateries.

Furthermore, there are few good eateries at Eco Boulevard, just next to EduCity, which are good for coffee and food (recommended by community members).

If you want to try the local style coffee shops, you should drop by Gelang Patah, as there is a row of old coffeeshops there which are awesome! You can find the old shops opposite the Shell station.

On top of that, you may visit Puteri Harbour which is a marina place with  heme parks such as Sanrio Hello Kitty, Thomas and Friends. There are also a few bars and bistros for the adults to chill out and relax.

For something a little more adventurous you may try horse riding at  the Leisure Farm.  The Bale Club is highly recommended by tourists too.

There are other amenities such as Gleneagles Medini Hospital and Mall of Medini just next to Legoland. In addition, buses (yellow causeway bus) are available and commute daily between Singapore and Malaysia which is quite frequent and convenient. So you may want to head on from here straight to Singapore if you're looking to travel further than just Malaysia!

Lastly, I would recommend you visit Forest City, the man made island city by a Chinese developer which is just opposite Singapore. There are hotels, duty free shops and the island itself is so majestic and definitely worth your visit!

This is part of a series of features about Malaysia written mainly by the Malaysian community. Expect hidden gems, local flavours, off-the-beaten-track experiences and much more. Consider this steemit's first independent guide to Malaysia!
