Statues in Greeley Square Park NYC
For this post, I will share a few Statues in Greeley Park not to Far from Herald Square and Macy's in NYC

This is a Statue of Horace Greeley and I thought I should show it first as I guess the park is named after him, and who was he you may ask, well if not I did, he was the First presedient of hte New York Typographical Union.

And this is a memorial to James Gordon Bennett in Herald Square which is right next door to Greeley Square infact I am not sure where one ends and the other starts.
James Gordon Bennett Was the Founder of the Ne York Herald Newspaper, The monument includes bronze sculptures of Minerva and two owls, which were part of the Herald building (now destroyed) designed by Stanford White in 1890.

Those statues are wonderful, such detail, the feathers on the birds...well done. Quite an homage to the forefathers of the city and the city's media center.

So interesting. I was born in Greeley, Colorado, but I only lived there until I was two years old. Never knew who it was named after, but I guess that's probably it. Learn something new every day. ;)
@katrina-ariel I was curious if that was the case and your right The town was named after Horace Greeley, editor of the New-York Tribune, who came to Colorado in the 1859 Pike's Peak Gold Rush
