Teardrops Poetry - "Innocence in Shade"
"Innocence in Shade"
In a certain light, faces all the same
Innocence in shade, ignoring our shame
Colour-blind reflections, covered in dust
Lessons for the world, always so unjust
Child’s basic view, playing natures game
Judging on real merit, no idea of fame
Showing understanding, while we are lost
Learning our mistakes, but at what cost
Reverting back the clock, echos in rewind
Before hearts darkened, by stupid pride
Inner child silenced, voice no longer heard
Hatred whispers loudly, following the herd
Cultures blend together, hatred still ignites
Adults in armour, having childish fights
Children keep playing, ignoring our dumb
Evil still engrained, now that hatred won
