Taho Vendor for 30 years

in #teardrops6 years ago (edited)

Each and everyone in the world has his own role in life. Got different status. Some are very rich ,some are so- so and some are they called poor. I think the world was just made as perfect as its unique outcome. Imagine? If all people are born poor or with money scarcity, no one will work in a corporate place or own a company who would hire employees to have job, and on the other side, if all of us are rich, there would be no people who needs to work outside and be away from their family and yeah probably no hunger since everyone is able to afford anything they want to. One thing just came up to my mind that has something to do with this awesome person i am going to feature , if everyone's rich , there would be no vendors , those vendors we see everyday , specially those vendors who roam around villages , cities just to earn money and provide for their family.

Meet Kuya Eric, He is a taho vendor since he was 15 years old and now he is 45 years old, he's been selling taho for 30 years now, wow! He got this from his father , who sells taho as well before. Kuya Eric is married and got 4 kids and all are studying .They are 3 boys and 2 girls. His wife works everyday as well , having to travel every morning , to serve other family as nannie , cleaner of the house and all other chores, then she has to go home at night to be with her own family.

Just a little background of what he is selling everyday , Let me tell you What TAHO is Taho is a Philippine snack food made of fresh soft/silken tofu, arnibal (sweetener and flavoring), and sago pearl (similar to tapioca pearls). This staple comfort food is a signature sweet and taho peddlers can be found all over the country. The Indonesian equivalent of this snack is Tauhue, and the Malaysian equivalent of this snack is called Taufufah.

He wakes up at 4 am to get his family's breakfast ready . He wakes up his kiddos and prepare their school needs . Then at 5 am he have to leave the house to go get his things for work. Yes, he doesn't own the things he use to sell taho, he goes to his boss's place every morning to get those. He said he definitely know how to do it but he just don't have tools for it . There, then at 6 am he is starting to
roam aroung villages , around city streets then he'll be finished at 12 noon . Then in the afternoon , he will do chores in the house , laundry and everything and sometimes he got part time jobs, like just on-call jobs, if somebody needs to repair a part of the house ,he said he can do all around things.

Eversince we transferred here , we've been his loyal customer , as in everyday we are having taho. What i mean with we, is me and my son Zeph ,when he was still here for vacation , he was actually the one who loves to buy taho everyday , then eventually i get used to buying it too. The truth is sometimes ,i don't crave for Taho or i don't feel like eating it , but since i wanna help Kuya Eric in that small amount , i automatically get my own glass ready before he comes. Then there we'll have short chit-chat while he serves my Taho. I just feel that he is a very sincere peraon and that he's really hardworking for his family, like even rainy season, he still sell taho. I admire his love for his family . His dedication for work , and i am sure he loves what he do because hello? 30 years and counting, amazing, passion. And i like how he has his own tune of saying tahooo!!! LOL. Watch the short video below

We've got different status in life , but no matter what it is , we should know how to understand and respect each other's situation. Try to help somebody as long as you can , even in your own little ways . Live, share and enjoy, life is beautiful.

Thanks for dropping by!

So cool! Great job with this blog Zeph! Love the creativity with which the citizens in the Phillippines people have their way of earning and transportation, eco friendly too. BTW, I did not know that dessert was popular in the Philippines. I’m familiar with it through Japanese and Thai vendors mainly.

PS Shared your post on Facebook.

That looks delicious.
Zeph looks like he loves what he does and that is why he is the best at it.

Thanks for introducing Zeph.

Have a lovely weekend @zephalexia

God bless you po.

Wow that's nice. 👍👍👍 At least he has a padyak/pedicab and does not need to carry and walk with that heavy burden.
