Samsung Note 9 Delay

in #tech6 years ago

There is a report suggesting that the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will be delayed.
The delay was reportedly caused when Samsung vice chairman Lee Jae-yong ordered a change in the design of the phone. The design change was ordered in May which is about 3 months from the expected release of the device.
"The Bell" has suggested that the delay is as a result of the company wanting to reduce the thickness of the glass protecting the display of the note 9 by 0.5mm (yes, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is being delayed because of 0.5mm). It shows Samsung puts a lot of effort in the design and quality of its devices.
The late design change was ordered when the vice chairman of the company Lee Jae-yong went on a trip to China in the beginning of may to have a personal look at the phones made by some of the competitors of Samsung. He is said to have ordered the change to reduce the thickness of the glass after that.
In the article, it says that Lee was pleased by how the phones he viewed felt in the hand and he was especially taken by the hand feel of phones made by Oppo and Vivo (Oppo and Vivo use Samsung displays).
This design change will reportedly delay production by two weeks and this is likely to push the release date of the note 9 forward. However, the release date is expected to be at the end of July or beginning of August.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is also expected to come with a speedy snapdragon 845 processor and an all new version of Bixby (Samsung's AI assistant)
