Private Internet Browsing

              A short book by Skanoko

                        draft document

This book is written to help you gain an edge on the big data frenzy focused around peoples, online activity, digital foot

print, location and personal information. By the time you finish reading this book you will have a clear understanding of

why you and your personal information is being used against you for various reasons and also how to bring a stop to this.

The first part of the book focuses on basic online computer concepts, the second part focuses on abit more advanced ones

and the third part of the book expands more on the concepts in the second part, the fourth part is written to help you

understand how to protect your information on line, and some tips tricks and tools that can be used to achive this.

The World Wide Web

A standard that runs on the internet

The Internet

A world wide consotrium of computers. Internet is actually the achronym for the term international network.

Privacy

The practice of an activity in seclusion, without anyone or anything intruding on that activity e.g taking a bath/shower in

the bathroom with the door locked, until you finish taking that bath then you open the door. up to the time you opened the

door, you were taking that bath in private.

Data

Building block of informaion

Data Mining

The activity of searching for data that can be put together to make usable/useful information.

Public

A given open area that is in the view of the people around

Digital Foot Print

A taril of breadcrumbs you leave behind, after browsing the world wide web.

Website

A landing place on the world wide web where you can ultilise an on line product/service that a given website is offering

e.g. email

Terms And Conditions

These are a set of clauses in an article that you agree to before you can ultilise an online product/service offered by a

given website e.g some T's and C's for sertern websites allow for the site to (a) supply your information to a third party

or (b) use the camera on your device, to collect data about you.

in most cases users rarely read the terms and conditions for sertern on line services/products. They then fall victim to

online data mining or victim of third party exploitation of online products and services.

Section 2

Lets have a look at more advanced online concepts

IP Address

An IP address or Internet Protocol address is a digital number assigned to every computer that is connected to the internet

(International Network).

Server

An online centralised storage sysyem, servers have since evolved and today they offer other features such as CPU Processing
and GPU Processing time and also distributed computing. The popular name for these servers today is a datacener or the

cloud. the cloud or is a virtual concept of data center and a datacenter is the physical concept of the cloud and

collectivley they are known as cloud computing also known as the brains of the internet.

The Darknet

Its a parallel concept of the world wide web, the protocols used to access the internet are diffrent from the protocols

used to access the darknet. To access the dark net one need only use dartnet tools and software and clients to use the type

of net. The method of transfering information on the darknet is called onion routing where the node that currently has the

information dosent know where it came from but only knows where it is headed this recurs over and over again until the

information arrives its final destinaton, thus leaving a distorted trail of breadcrumbs, which is not good for digital foot

print tracking or location based advertising.

Most People say the darknet reenforces the original concepts of the internet and the world wide web, when it was first

invented. the original concepts of the internet comprised of an open, free decentralised and private experience.

Internet Service Provider

ISP's come in multiple types of layers, namley Super macro ISP, Macro ISP, Micro ISP and local ISP. An internet service

provider, gives access to the internet at a nominal fee, through various types of subscriptions, such as capped internet

access and unlimited asccess. These tow types of subscriptions depend on how and where your local ISP subscribes to and

from.
The internet is actually etheral in nature this means, it has no physical form,it has no physical appearence, it is not

owned by a single organisation, it is open in nature, it is easy to connect to, it is indestructible and lastly it is a

world wide consortium of computers from the largest data centers, all the way to the smallest 2.5g phone that is connected

and online and this consortium is about to get bigger with the connection extending to the internet of things(communication

betwen common house hold devices stove , microwave oven, fridge all this with out any human interaction).

Activities Carried out On the world wide web

The most common being social networking, E commerce, online banking, social media(big diffrence between social networking),

surveylence state activities(cyber crimes evolution, on line gaming and decentralised networking (blockchain based, like

steemit). and yes there is a diffrence between social media and social networking.

Social Networking =

No body you/me
--->
<---
No body me/you

Communication two ways

Social Media =

Sombody ME/YOU

--->

Nobody YOU/ME

Communication one way(100000 Followers, Following 0 People).

Section 3

Virtual Private Networking (ISP)

A VPN is what is known as virtual private networking you can get this kind of networking from your ISP as a product and

service. The Nature of the Vpn product depends on what your local ISP has ON offer.

Virtual Private Networking Client

A VPN client is a software application that you can download and use on your computer. Some are free and others have

features that can be subscribed for on a monthly basis.

Section 4

Features OF A VPN & Virtual Private Networking Client

VPN Network: acts as a buffer for your computer via your ISP, between your ISP ( the VPN) And The Internet.
VPN Client: hides your IP address and physical location
VPN Network: Provides a Synthetic location and address for sites that track that data.
VPN Client: you can change your IP address and location and provide synthec ones.
VPN Network: ensures you leave a false set of breadcrumbs(digital foot print).
VPN Client: has double the privacy if used with a darknet browser.
VPN Network: Some websites that have since been blocked in your region of the world can be accesed as you appear to be in

another country(this is also synonimus with websites that have blocked sertern content in your region).
VPN Client: creates a buffer between your ISP (the VPN client) and home gateway towards the internet.
VPN Network: has doubble the effect when you use it with browsers that have incognito mode and also a darknet browsers.
VPN: Client: Blocked content accessisble in your region.
VPN Client/Network: Zero Tracking From Tracking websites(the data they track is destorted, usually noticed in this case is

adverts that are not targeted for your region).

CONCLUSION

The internet/world wide web were originally made for a free and open and private experience which is becoming a fading

thing in this day and age, with the advancement of bigdata it will become impossible to enjoy these original things, hence

this crash course in private browsing.

I hope you have found the information in this document useful. Now go out there and browse the internet with a freemind and

private browsing at your disposal.

Big Data

Big data is the new comodity of the world wide web and is collected by websites that provide online products/services.
big data in actuall fact is the collective effort of individuals, by putting thier own information(name, comments,Pictures,

video and files) on the world wide web. Bigdata contains so much information that advanced systems that can learn on thier

own are required in order to make sense of the data. main beneficiaries of big data include;

E commerce sites
Data mining sites (search engines)
Social Networking Sites (e.g life invader from GTA V and other social networking site that shall remain unamed due to poor

handling of peoples personal information to third party organisations(cambridge chimbwilitica)).

and finally by collectivley leaving our digital foot prints on those weired kinds of websites, we are unknowingly

contributing to the big data process.

thanks for reading my book and i hope it helps you by gaining an advantage in this world of information/data cyber

traffiking.

thnks

take care out there.

Sort:

In my mind, blockchain technology is a way for people to take back the internet from the big corporations who have currently taken ownership of it.

Blockchain enables us to do as we please without fear of people purchasing our data for their targeted advertising etc.

I have high hopes that blockchain will enable us to create the internet that we were meant to have today.

Oh and welcome to Steemit. :)

thanks for the welcome, i hope to turn the article into a book of sorts. Blockchain holds great promise for everyone.

Sure does. Write a post about what you plan to do here under the introduceyourself tag. That way you’ll get yourself in front of a lot of people who can help you with your journey here.
