ASUS ROG STRIX GL503VD entry-level gaming laptop at Rs 15 million will be the main theme of this article. This latest series offers a platform that combines Intel Core i7 generation with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10 Series graphics card. But in this latest series, there was a significant change in the appearance of gaming laptops in different ways and give them a fresh look.

The latest design base of the ROG STRIX GL503VD ASUS body design with the ROG GX501 "Zephyrus", the thinnest high-end gaming notebook today. Interestingly, the latest body design of this user will be easier to upgrade to a special door to access the memory / RAM and storage components. Of course, outstanding features that are common in ASUS ROG Gaming Laptops still maintain this variant.

ASUS will not compromise with processor components even though it has become a ROG product at an affordable price. The ASUS ROG STRIX GL503VD is powered by the same Core i7 7700HQ processor as other ROG gaming laptops for a high price. Core i7 7700HQ is based on Kaby Lake CPU architecture with 14+ nanometer manufacturing process. The Core i7 7700HQ is a four-core processor, but thanks to hyper-threading technology, it can handle eight computing processes at the same time, making it ideal for processing applications that require multiple threads. The core clock speed of the Core i7 7700HQ is 3.8GHz when one core operates, 3.6GHz when two cores operate, and 2.8GHz when the four cores operate on a 3.4GHz Turbo Boost 2.0 clock speed.

ASUS incorporates the Core i7 7700HQ processor with a FCBGA1440 socket-based motherboard based on the Intel HM175 chipset.

ASUS ROG STRIX GL503VD has a type of memory / RAM DDR4 (1.2 Volt) with a capacity of 8 GB and 2400 MHz speed. Unfortunately, using a single memory / RAM chip allows single-channel memory configuration on this gaming laptop, which can affect performance in certain scenarios such as using Intel IGP. Fortunately, if you want to use dual channel memory configuration, only one memory slot / second of RAM is occupied.

ASUS ROG STRIX GL503VD Gaming Performance is provided by the GeForce GTX 1050. Located in the entry-level class of the GTX 10 line series, this graphics card allows manufacturers to create affordable gaming laptops. The GeForce GTX 1050 GPU GP107 is claimed to have the same Pascal architecture base as the other GTX 10 series variants. GTX 1050 itself has 640 CUDA core, 40 units of texture and 16 units of ROP. The type of memory / VRAM used is GDDR5 with a 128-bit memory bus size. The specifications are the same as on the GTX 1050 desktop. The GTX 1050, which is very special for laptops, comes in 2GB memory and 4GB of memory / VRAM for use with the ASUS ROG STRIX GL503VD.
ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce GTX 1050 GPU with GL503VD has two operating modes: Standard and Extreme. Thanks to GPU Boost 3.0 technology in standard mode, the default clock value of the graphics card is 1354 MHz and can reach up to 1695 MHz (fan increase). In extreme mode, the default clock card value is 1454 MHz and a maximum speed of 1771 MHz (Overboost Enthusiasts). The memory / VRAM speed is 7008 MHz in both modes.
ASUS ROG STRIX GL503VD still offers NVIDIA Optimus technology, so you can exchange IGP and individual graphics cards. IGP is enabled in a Windows desktop environment in idle or current state, and a separate graphics card is enabled when an application that starts or runs the game is enabled. These functions are intended to save on electricity usage, especially when using the battery. ASUS ROG STRIX GL503VD is equipped with IGP Intel HD Graphics 630 built into the Core i7 7700HQ processor.
