Technology giants, including Whatsapp, are watching you closely

How you #keep your mobile phone at hand, scanning your messages, transferring your information to third parties and #companies ...
These are just three of the things you accept when signing up for sites and applications of some #technology #giants.

The #BBC's research has determined that university education is necessary to understand the language used in the #privacy policy and use conditions.

However, when you look closely at the technological jargons that are used, amazing facts about how your data are used are revealed.

How are the tech giants #collecting and using your #personal #data?I compiled in 7 chapters:

Even if you do not allow where you are
Most applications require permission to track where you are using your mobile phone's Global Locator (GPS) system. Users can refuse this request if they want it.

But if you do not let them know where you are.

Facebook, for example, collects information about your phone that tells you where you are except GPS. The IP address you are still using is where you are, and the "check-ins and participating activities" you are following.

Twitter tells you that you "need" information about the place you're in and that you're doing it "on signals from IP address or device settings." The company says that "you need to establish your account safely and protect yourself".

There are companies that forward your data to third parties
When you accept the terms of use, you often do not give your data to the application you use. Many data sharing between groups is being done.

For example, matchmaker application Tinder shares data with Match Group. This group owns matchmaking sites like #OkCupid, #PlentyofFish and #Match.com.

Tinder says it is "done for maintenance, customer service, marketing and targeted advertising" and that users who violate the terms of use will be removed from practice.

#LinkedIn's privacy policy, which #Microsoft purchased two years ago, says, "If you use the services provided by our partners, including Microsoft, we get your data."

You are also subject to the terms of use of third parties
Reading the usage conditions of technology giants may not be enough. You may also need to read other companies that receive your data.

He says that you can also share your #Amazon data with third parties, and he says that "users should carefully examine their privacy policies and conditions of use," along with their own terms of use.

Or, if you use #Apple products, your personal data is shared with Apple "companies that offer information processing, credit for installment, and interest in Apple products and services."

The new #Global #Data #Protection #Regulations (#GPDR) in the #European #Union do not require these third party companies to be listed on the companies' terms of use.

However, Ailitih Callander, a private organization called Privacy International, says it may have worrying effects.

Tinder also collects your gyro data
Sometimes the collection of data goes beyond the name, age and location.

#Tinder says the app also collects the accelerometer (to measure movements) of the phone, the gyroscope (the system that measures your phone's angle), and the data that your compass provides.

However, precisely for what purpose these data are collected and used are not explained.

#Facebook offers you the option of deleting searches you have done in the past, and users think that their search history is completely deleted.

But the problem is that the calls are not deleted.

The data policy states that search history can be deleted at any time, but search records will be deleted after 6 months.

If you think your private messages are really private, think again.

According to the privacy policy, #Linkedin uses "auto-scan technology" in its messages.

In the meantime, #Twitter keeps your messages and works.

Twitter says, "You use your services to better understand the use of your services and not the content of the messages (but the content of the messages) that you communicate with when and when," he said.
