The most powerful computer on earth has been created!

Just a year ago, China launched the fastest computer in the world "Sunway TaihuLight", which had 10649600 cores and offered power at 93 teraflops. That's a lot :) But ...

IBM (International Business Machines Corporation), the oldest US IT company, created the most powerful computer on Earth with NVIDIA. Summit - this is what has been named the most powerful computer in the world!

The computer consists of 4608 servers and has 10 petabytes (PB) of RAM operating memory. It can perform as many as 200,000 trillion operations per second and thus exceeds the previously mentioned "Sunway TaihuLight".

Summit will be used primarily for research, which will help many scientists :) It will be used in areas such as:

• oncology, astrophysics and systemic biology.
  The cost of the entire construction is up to 200 million dollars, so at the current dollar rate it is about 724 million PLN, a large sum;)

We can see Summit in Tennessee at the Oak Ridge State Laboratory. Summit is so powerful that it made calculations during its construction. Director Thomas Zakaria is satisfied with the whole undertaking.
