In the last posts on technology I have dealt with some issues related to energy from solar panels, the growing consumption of energy makes obsolete the model of energy production by fossil fuels or radioactive metals, apart from the gigantic pollution, the idea is to consume more energy from solar panels or wind technology, many companies have stood out completely changing their way of producing energy, today we will concentrate our vision on the future where solar panels can be transparent to be used in the windows of buildings or houses.
The positive thing is that solar energy has grown sustainably, it is estimated that by the year 2022 exceeded 30% of total electricity produced on the planet, innovation in solar panel manufacturing has also advanced by leaps and bounds, formerly the solar panel models were weak and took up a lot of space, today the technological revolution has produced light panels that can be used in electric cars, in other facets of manufacturing have managed to make transparent solar panels that can be used as glass for large buildings or small sites such as houses.
The problem is that most people think of solar panels as dark objects, however, a team of scientists at the University of Michigan is developing more transparent solar panels in order to be used as glass. The famous project whose leader is Richard Lunt, is the character behind converting any type of glass into a transparent solar panel, not only from windows or any window could also be used for automobile windshields, have done tests up to mobile devices so that they can supply energy without the need for a connector.
The technology used for this type of solar panels is called transparent luminescent solar concentration. The only drawback is the chemical composition of the glasses, which despite functioning as a refractory system is not enough to enhance the technology of solar panels. Also the glasses used for the solar panels whose chemical formula gives the characteristic opaque and darkened color is not very showy for the architectural theme. Therefore this advance is very important to be the first transparent video with all the properties of solar panels.
The luminescent transparent solar concentrator system can be used in any window or device that has glass, is able to collect energy from ultraviolet and infrared spectrum, in other words the wavelengths can produce heat through solar energy, so it could also work as an excellent heater to ambient and control the temperature inside apartments or offices.
If all goes well, this type of advance can be used in many devices, its applications are very varied which gives security to investors in having more control over future use and profits returned by the sale of it. Imagine feeding a skyscraper complete with solar panels that would be in themselves the same windows of the building, or be able to apply this to mobile phones to feed them with energy through the same screen. The most amazing thing is that we wouldn't even think we were in front of a solar panel.
So far everything is in test mode, it is expected to continue to advance in this type of technology that will be very useful for our lives in the future, making it more sustainable and clean.
