Biometric Readers for Vending Machines, a Trend to Promote a Privileged Class and Global Biometric Database

in #technology5 years ago (edited)

In a push to spy, track and control what people are allowed to purchase or where they can go, corporate America is rolling out new vending machines to warm the public up to more biometric security. They also want to promote automation and reduce the amount of humans doing work they have to pay more.

Instead of a coin to pop into a machine and get your soda, chips or other item, new technology is being developed to serve customers at vending machines by knowing who they are and even their criminal records from biometric identification. This way only certain people can be allowed to buy the items in question.

Specifically, finger vein's are being used to detect someone's age in order to serve them age-restricted items. American Green Machine is already changing the way some items are being purchased with their vein reader to detect a customer's age. Of course, they sell their technological development as "cool" rather than worrisome:

"The American Green Smart System is an age verification system that allows the opportunity of merchandising and selling age restricted products. American Green’s technology interface is one of a kind and does some pretty cool things such as vein verification biometrics."

Weed, booze, and guns. This vending machine can sell just about anything

What items? Well items that are restricted by age, such as guns, cannabis, and alcohol.

In order to purchase something, a customer must already be registered with AGM and provide their biometric and information. But they surely can detect age alone, without being registered. And other biometric identification technology can be used all over America and the world, as scanners and readers start being introduced in many places.

For example, cars would be rolled out with owner-specific biometrics to allow only them to open a door, or turn on an engine. Public venues like sports stadium for sporting events or concerts could introduce biometric scanners, like the one's the TSA has. Your identity could be verified without providing any ID yourself.

All these systems could be interconnected in a network of surveillance to track you almost anywhere you go. If you don't have a car which has biometrics and signals your approach to some connected IoT security station, the public cameras and businesses with their own security can know when you're about to enter and verify if you are a threat of some kind.

CLEAR is being used by the TSA to make quick-passes through the airports. People are being encouraged to do the same at sporting events to skip lines. And people are willing to do this in order to become one of the "privileged" who don't have to wait in line like everyone else. This is the perk that is enticing people to sell their privacy and security, and sabotage it for everyone else.

A new class of privileged citizens is emerging, and vending machines are another avenue used to create them. Schools can adopt this technology as well, limiting certain age groups from purchasing products deemed "inappropriate" for them, or limiting products to students who perform better than others. In order to buy some soda or chips, you may need to get straight A's or be older than 14, for example.

Corporations want to identify shoppers. First, in order to tailor advertising and marketing more effectively. But secondly, to encourage certain behaviors that will have more perks and rewards compared to everyone else, creating a class of "privileged" in society who welcome this new age of biometric intrusion.

This "privilege" will surely carry over to the governmental and authoritarian sector to promote certain behavior in order to manage and control the population. A globalism increases, corporate and governmental databases will merge in a common symbiotic goal with worldwide data collection to manage the planet.

AGM's vending machines use Hitachi's non-invasive M2-FingerVein Reader, which are leading towards the global biometric law enforcement under the banner of "public safety". M2-FingerVein has industries that will use their technology, which includes jail-management as part of their public safety efforts.

eLawEnforcement - police, prison, probation, court and justice software solution

Their goals are far reaching beyond prison management. The push is indeed for tracking everywhere, nearly everywhere. From government, health care, public safety, workforce management and banking, the future is going to have biometrics everywhere to ensure certain behavior is propagated and rewarded, creating a class of privileged citizens.

Wow! A Pot vending machine in public is not something I would have ever guessed I would see in my lifetime.

As for the commercial about eLawenforcement. Sadly I saw that one coming.

They won't stop until they can track the smallest of movements from us.

Yup, the endgame may take a long time, but they work multigenerationally :/

oh..biometric..it has made a lot of resonance in Russia now
The society is against these changes, but..the digital world and its "guides" don't ask us..

Good or bad, it doesn't matter.
It's here and is unavoidable.
