Can science ever replace us?

in #technology6 years ago

It is wonderful and amazing how science has evolved, it is not something that can go unnoticed. Science has evolved so much in these recent years that some of its creations can be chilling. One question I have regarding the future is:

Can science ever replace us?

In fact I am not against science, I have family in various parts of the world and I am happy that only through a camera or a chat can I communicate with them, science through its evolution has managed to save the lives of millions of humans, through the evolution in medicine, even with developed systems that can detect if an earthquake is going to occur, people are alerted to evacuate the area in danger.

Science has always been questioned how far they go and has even been reflected in the cinema, as in the movie 'I Robot'. It's reality that can not be extrange for us, because the challenge is to identify what is the added and differentiating value.

For many, maybe it sounds a bit silly, but I will inform you of several things that may make you change your mind.

Medicine:

Some aspects of a doctor's work can now be done by computers. For example, surgeons already use robotic automation systems to help with less invasive procedures. IBM's Watson demonstrated that it can diagnose lung cancer by analyzing MRI much more reliably than that performed by the same doctors! In addition, the UCSF Medical Center has recently launched a controlled robotic automated pharmacy to two UCSF hospitals that automatically dispense prescriptions based on bar codes scanned by nurses.

Architecture:

It is increibe but there are already programs to help people design their own homes, making architectural skills and even more automated design and color options. For now, most people are using the software primarily as a visualization tool, or to replace architects for very small projects. But as the sophistication of the programs improves, so too will the need for human architects and designers decrease.

Receptionist:

Our dear secretaries are at risk and it is for this reason, 'Big-Data', programs and increasingly advanced software allow our counselors to be machines that know us as much or better than we do ourselves. They can organize meetings, postpone appointments, correct texts and images, make calls and much more. Many of us have already used some of these softwares, going to restaurants where we order our food through machines that is to say that even the innkeepers can be supplanted!

Science is something wonderful and is a great gift for humanity, but my question is the same... Can science ever replace us?
