How to start your own blog
When you are looking to start a blog of your own, it can seem like a daunting task. In reality, if you take it one step at a time and with the right instructions, you can easily create your own blog in just a couple minutes. The hardest part is choosing your website name and creating content. But if you are serious about it, in just a few minutes you can be on your way to creating your first blog post.
Step 1 - Choose a provider
The first thing you want to do is pick out a hosting provider. A hosting provider is who will actually store the files for the website and who will make it available for people on the internet.

Step 2 - Choose a name/domain
When you visit https://axelwebhosting.com, you will be presented with a text box. There you will want to select a website domain (such as moreabout.tech, axelwebhosting.com, or something.blog). It will tell you if your name is available or not. Once you are happy, select "Add to cart" but keep in mind once you purchase this domain, you cannot return it. You can change it, but you cannot get your money back. Domains are paid for yearly, there is a registration price and a renewal price for the next year. Make sure you understand the costs that go along with each one.
Once you have chosen a domain, choose a hosting plan. Simply finish the checkout process up.
Step 3 - Create your blog
Once you have registered your website, you are now ready to create your WordPress blog. On the client portal, click "Login to cPanel". cPanel is the main interface that you use to manage your website. There are many options, but don't get intimidated, right now we are going to simply focus on the easy installer. At the very bottom of the page, you will find a heading that says "Softaculos App Installer". In there, you will find WordPress. Click that to start the install.
Click "Install Now". There you will configure your Blog. You will leave most to defaults, but here are ones you will want to change.
- In Directory: Make this blank
- Admin Username: Your username you want publicly shown to all users
- Admin Password: A secure password you will remember
- Admin Email: The email address that you will watch frequently. You will get notified of new comments via this email address. You can actually set up a personalized email at your new domain, just put in a support ticket if you need help figuring out how.
- I recommend leaving everything else at default.
