More and more Phishing Sites with SSL

in #technology5 years ago

Dlike seems to be down right now, so trying out Dclick.

Found that article: https://krebsonsecurity.com/2018/11/half-of-all-phishing-sites-now-have-the-padlock/

Recent data from anti-phishing company PhishLabs shows that 49 percent of all phishing sites in the third quarter of 2018 bore the padlock security icon next to the phishing site domain name as displayed in a browser address bar. That’s up from 25 percent just one year ago, and from 35 percent in the second quarter of 2018.

So it's not a safe assumption anymore, that the phishing site is not encrypted like the original one. They are getting better.

If you want to stay safe, be smart, don't follow links and only type the url to your personal stuff.
KeePass is able to not only save the username and password, but also the URL. Saving it there and using it from this programm could be a safer way to access specific sites.
