In a statement about the importance of this mission, SPSEX said that Bangladesh's first geostationary satellite was developed as 'Bangabandhu Satellite Launching Project'. The satellite has 25 Ku-band and 14 c-band transponders, which have been created by Thales Alina Space. It has been built on the Spacebase 4000b2 platform, which will be run by Bangladesh Communication Satellite Company Limited (BCSCL).

The satellite will be able to serve in Bangladesh and the neighborhood. The watershed of Bangladesh and Bay of Bengal will be under the banner of the Ku-band.
