Introduction

Since its my first time in joining and having to experience the Open Discussion at Teenvestor Discord Channel, I would like to share what I had learned and shared in the discussion. At first, I never really had thought that I could join this discussion since I never really know the things that could be tackled in the discussion, but as the former utopian.io moderator for the translations category @josephace135 tagged me in the open discussions discord that maybe I could help share some points since one of the topics is all about utopian.io so I had given it a try to listen and give my thoughts.

Currently, I am a utopian.io contributor for the graphics category, and by being one I have some knowledge about this category that could help in the discussion, since I already had some number of my contributions approved under this category. So to start, the main topics that were discussed are as follows but they are not limited to just that.

  • 3rd Party Applications (Dlive, Dtube, Utopian, etc.)
  • Community Driven Accounts (Curie, Sndbox, OCD, Bayanihan, etc.)

Utopian.io

The first discussion was brought to us by @josephace135 as he tackled the major things about utopian.io as a community driven platform. Then about what is an open source project, his experience in the platform as a contributor then to being a moderator, to the individual categories a contributor can contribute to and a walkthrough on how someone could contribute in this categories.

  • In tackling about the graphics category, I had shared about what a vector is, the new update on how someone could contribute in this category and the applications that the contributor for the said category use to create vector outputs.

Dlive and Dtube

The discussion for this was brought to us by @jassennessaj as he explains to us his experience on using Dlive to share his live games on NBA and Dota 2, using an application called Orb to sync his streaming to Dlive. He also explained about the benefactor rewards you'll get from these third party sites. Dtube benefits 25% of your payouts however rewards more than Dlive.

Community Driven Accounts (Curie, Sndbox, OCD, Bayanihan, etc.)

For the @bayanihan, this was explained by @jassennessaj a bayanihan curator, he explained that this community driven account aims to find and support Filipino steemians, as well as promote content creation in Filipino and other local languages. First and foremost, the tags Philippines and Pilipinas are the required tags to legible for a bayanihan vote, however your post should be worthy enough to be curated by this initiative.

For the @ocd that was explained also by @morken as he has been curated by this community driven account before when he still have a low reputation. The tags ocd-resteem must be used and you should have a low reputation to be curated in this initiative.

For the @sndbox, this was explained by @jassennessaj and @smaeunabs. This community driven account aims to incubate creatives and communities around the world and harness their skills to empower their craft professionally and financially.

For @curie community driven account, discussed by @wdoutjah a curie curator. These are some of the key points to remember especially for the travel blogs which always gets more attention for curie curators to check.

  • Good photos would be a big factor since it will define what you are explaining.
  • Avoid having selfies since your face doesn't represent the place and adds no value to the beauty of the place.
  • We should write in first person because in this way, your story will be more authentic.

So to wrap things up, it was a very productive night since I learned a lot of things and they also learned from me. It was a wonderful experience to have joined the discussion and im glad to be a part of the teaching and learning process. Since I found it very beneficial for me, even though im here already for quite sometime now (roughly about 104 days already), I still have so much to learn in this platform. Now, Im looking forward to the next open discussion that would be on next Saturday. In Teenvestors we earn and learn together!
