The illegal US bombing campaign in Yemen.

This day, seven years ago, President Barack Obama blew a teenager up with a missile. An American teenager no less. His name was Abdulrahman al-Awlaki and he was born in Denver, Colorado. Abdulrahman al-Awlaki was never charged with a crime much less suspected of one but on October 14th, 2011, whilst eating at a restaurant in Yemen, Obama's drones blew him to pieces with such severity that his parents had to identify him with a fragment of his skull and the curly hair attached to it.

As you can expect, the administration offered no justification for the killing but just a few weeks later, the Obama Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said, "He should have had a more responsible father," referring to Anwar al-Awlaki, an alleged operational leader of the al-Qaeda, who Obama assassinated just weeks before killing Abdulrahman.

Fast forward to today, and we have Trump calling for the culling of innocent family members of suspected terrorists, but the very idea of it is frequently met with public outrage. When Obama did the same thing, the public shrugged their shoulders.

If Russia blows up a hospital, we call it a war crime. When U.S soldiers do it, we call it collateral damage.

When al-Qaeda targets first responders, we call it terrorism. When Obama does it, we call it a "signature strike on military -aged males."

Joining the club of al-Awlaki killers, Trump ordered a commando raid on Yakla on January 29th 2017, killing Nawar al-Awlaki - Abdulrahman's 8 year old half sister.
