Architecture Photography: Black Glass Building, ตึกกระจกดำ

This is my entry for architecturephotography contest hosted by @juliank.

This looked like a Transformer in disguise as a building to me.

This photo was taken while traveling in a taxi. I am sorry about the quality of this photo, the glass panel of this taxi was not very clear and it was getting way past sunset. But I was fascinated by this tall black glass building. The shape reminds me of the Transformer! I could imagine it suddenly stretch out it’s arms at night and went on a rampage. I will never understand why the architects design lots of glass buildings in Bangkok! They become like a sauna during hot days and consume enormous amount of electricity. Let’s hope there are not going to be earthquakes in Thailand or Burma in the near future.

ตึกนี้ทำให้คิดถึงภาพยนต์เรื่อง ทรานสฟอร์มเมอร์ ภาพนี้ถ่ายตอนนั่งอยู่ในแท็กซี่ ภาพมีคุณภาพแย่มากเพราะกระจกรถยนต์ค่อนข้างขุ่นมัว. และเลยเวลาพระอาทิตย์ตกไปแล้ว แสงจึงน้อยมาก แต่เราก็ติดใจการออกแบบตึกนี้มาก นี่เป็นครั้งแรกที่ได้เห็นใกล้ๆ เราจินตนาการไปจนมองเห็นว่า ตอนกลางคืนตึกนี้จะค่อยๆขยับแขนสองข้าง แล้วออกเดินไปทั่วเมือง ทำให้รถยนต์ที่จอดไว้โดนเหยียบแบนมากมายตามถนน ตึกนี้เดินอาละวาดไปทั่วเมือง เที่ยวมองหาเพื่อนและแฟนของมัน

เราไม่มีวันเข้าใจว่า ทำไมสถาปนิกจึงออกแบบตึกที่ทำด้วยกระจกมากมายในกรุงเทพฯ เวลาแดดออกและในหน้าร้อนตึกกระจกกลายเป็นห้องอบไอน้ำ และต้องใช้พลังงานไฟฟ้าในการทำความเย็นมหาศาล เราก็ได้แต่หวังว่า จะไม่มีแผ่นดินไหวในประเทศไทยและพม่าในอนาคต.
