The ordination ceremony is an ancient Thai tradition for Thai Buddhists men over 20 years old. Once in their life they should become Buddhist monks to practice Buddhist disciplines.

Jul 2nd was the day that my brother become a monk. We had a hair cutting ceremony in the morning with relatives and others. After that, a monk cut and shaved his hair, mustache, and eyebrows.

Relatives and guests showered him and dressed him in a white cloth for the next step of
processing to the temple.

Things to prepare for the parade:

-One set of orange Buddhist monk's robes

-Three flower sets (Contains flowers, candles and incense)

-Three sets of ordination ceremony cones(For processing in the ceremony)

-One set of monk’s alms bowls (Container for receiving food)

-One set talipot fans (Device for praying in the Buddhist ceremony)

-One monk’s kit bag

-One Pillow (For sleeping)
-Other necessities for living in the temple

The parade circled clockwise around the temple ordination hall three times. And then we went into the hall for the processing ceremony by the senior monk.

After the ceremony was over, we celebrated together over lunch.

สวัสดีเพื่อนๆทุกคนคะ
การอุปสมบทหรือบวชเป็นพระภิกษุสงฆ์ เป็นประเพณีธรรมเนียมของชาวไทยในศาสนาพุทธ ผู้ชายไทยที่มีอายุตั้งแต่ 20 ปี หากมีโอกาสสักครั้งหนึ่งในชีวิตต้องบวช เพื่อเรียนรู้พระพุทธศาสนาคะ

เช้าวันที่ 2 กรกฎาคม เป็นวันงานที่น้องชายต้องเข้าพิธีอุปสมบท ฤกษ์งามยามดีเริ่มเข้าสู่พิธีปลงผม โดยญาติและแขกที่รับเชิญจะช่วยกันปลงผมก่อนทางพระภิกษุจะทำการโกนผมให้คะ

เมื่อโกนผมเสร็จเรียบร้อยแล้ว ก็อาบน้ำทำความสะอาดร่างกายให้บริสุทธิ์ก่อนเข้าพิธีแห่ เข้าพระอุโบสถเพื่อทำพิธีบรรพชาอุปสมบทเป็นพระภิกษุ

ขบวนแห่ ประกอบด้วย ผ้าไตรเอก 1 ชุด, ไตรรอง 1 ชุด, ดอกไม้เอก 3 ชุด, กรวย 3 ชุด, บาตรพระ 1 ลูก, ตาลปัตร 1 อัน, ย่าม 1 ใบ,มุ้ง และหมอน 1 อัน ของถวายพระอุปัชฌาย์และพระคู่สวด, ของถวายพระอันดับ, บริขารและเครื่องใช้อื่นๆของผู้บวช เมื่อจัดขบวนเสร็จเรียบร้อยและเดินเวียนขวารอบพระอุโบสถ 3 รอบ ก่อนเข้าพระอุโบสถ เพื่อทำพิธีอุปสมบทเป็นพระภิกษุสงฆ์

หลังจากเสร็จสิ้นพิธี พวกเรามีการเลี้ยงฉลองพระใหม่ ทานอาหารกลางวันร่วมกัน ขออนุโมธนา สาธุ บุญแก่เพื่อนๆทุกคนคะ
