My Weekend Getaway to Koh Lipe Island !!
The amazing part about living and working in Bangkok,Thailand is the Thai people do there work and are consisted and good at it but they also enjoy there breaks. They have various Buddhism ceremonial events that occur in Thailand during the year and that i love because we do have many opportunity to get away for long weekend holidays out of the Bangkok's concert jungle so we decided to visit Koh Lipe on this last weekend Buddhism holiday a island i had longing to see.
Koh Lipe is not a big island it's in the southern part of Thailand and is easily accessible you can book flights with a Airline company called Air-Asia and they have a package deal including ferry over to the island is how we done it the quickest way if only spending a long weekend there , they are well organized and not expensive , cost us $120 US round trip per person take the early bird flight 6.30am domestic flight from Bangkok and your there for lunch.
The island is classify as National Marine Park with lots of beautiful greenery around you can breath that greenery and ocean fresh air as you are approaching the island it's truly beautiful nature and tranquil meet. No cars on this island only motorbike taxis but honestly we didn't use them as the island is about 2.5km in width and 2km in length. There are three main beaches on the island Sunset Beach (west), Sunrise Beach (east), and Pattaya Beach (south) and they are all walking distance from each other. When you get of that tail-boat already you can feel your in paradise.
The island is very famous for it's coral reefs great for snorkeling and scuba diving or just for lazying around in the clear crystal turquoise waters like we were doing we were just on a nature relaxing break without exerting ourselves just enjoy the beauty around us sitting , relaxing or just enjoying reading a book with five star views.
The island to me was so natural with it's clear crystal waters , white powdery sands , tropical forest with it's coconut trees ...come on it wouldn't be as picturesque without coconut trees on the island it was just a joy and a piece of heaven to be walking around this paradise island and when the sunsets were approaching it was just like a burst of energy just flowing within our bodies.
Sitting by the beach side at sunset was the main event for us but don't get me wrong there is a good serve of nightlife on this island as well with lots of restaurants and bars that will serve you the best seafood dinners and coldest beer or red wine right by the beach taking in those beautiful sunsets and the accommodations well you have beautiful tree house bungalows to five star resorts.
If you just like peace and quite i suggest stay at Sunrise Beach on Koh Lipe island it's peaceful because you don't get the boat traffic coming and going and you get the best of sunrises and sunsets. You know the only disappointing and upsetting part about this journey was having to leave this awesome paradise.

What a beautiful place, incredible photography I love the colour of the ocean - just amazing. I love the orange in the sunsets at the end as well - really good post it took me on an incredible fascinating journey.
