Dog walk diaries: a painful experience

It has been one of those very long nights that are common for parents with young children. They aren't explicitly stated in the contract but are implied via common practice laws of the universe. Because of the lack of sleep, the day has changed significantly.

One of the things I have considered over the years is how much can a human deal with and still survive and heal from at a mental/emotional level. I am not talking about a sleepless night obviously here.

I know some people who have suffered some immense hardships in their lives from being violently abused, gang raped, family members murdered, war, famine, tribal conflicts, severe poverty.. the list unfortunately goes on.

For some, it defines them and holds them back while for others it empowers them to be better than their past experience. Many people perpetually carry their baggage while others learn and let go. Is this a skill or a personality type. I think it might be both.

Although I have faced my own hardships, I count myself fortunate that they haven't been things I can't recover from. I have a feeling though that it is my personality, skillset and perspective, not the type of challenge that has been the influencer. Experience plays a large part in this.

How about you. Are you defined and boxed buy your past or empowered for a better future?

They are mushrooms by the way.

Sort:

If you take a completely new sheet of paper which is pristine and fold it, that crease will always remain to some degree even if it is barely perceptible. If you crumple the sheet into a ball with many folds, it will be even more obvious that it has been damaged when you try to revert it to its original form.

Humans, however, are more than just wood fibres: there is at least some possibility that what is called the "miraculous" can occur. Of course, incredible healing is not a miracle at all but within laws of quantum physics we do not yet understand. We can become greater than our traumas, but rarely does this happen overnight.

When it comes to the quite horrific traumas you mentioned, the most common occurrence is that they never completely heal, like a broken arm that was not set properly. There is a degree of consent the universe needs for one to process and heal the past, and the majority of people aren't willing to revisit the pain in order to release it on deep levels.

It is not just that they aren't willing to: it usually requires good physical, mental, and emotional health to have the energy to process past severe traumas. The idea of a downward spiral is real, because if you live in a certain way more traumatic events will just pile on top and it will be really difficult to heal the past.

Luckily, there are so many techniques to improve health on various levels, usually requiring an overall change of attitude towards life as a prerequisite. The intention to want to heal and transform our traumas can be a very powerful one and set us on a lifelong path to achieve that end, even if it takes decades.

and the majority of people aren't willing to revisit the pain in order to release it on deep levels.

Most people avoid pain and discomfort even if it must be experienced to be healed. Rather than deal we distract ourselves from what we actually need and fill our attention with irrelevance.

Yep. one things leads to another and another until where we are is in such a hole we must climb mountains to get out. Perhaps we should all spend time at a young age learning good mental and emotional hygiene habits so as never to build the baggage in the first place.

It kind of works both ways for me. I try to let it motivate me but when I fail or do not try sometimes, I use it as a lousy excuse

It isn't easy to come to terms with some things but at the end of the day, I think the improved quality of future life experience is worth the effort to try.

There is a lot a human can take. Sleep is a tough one though as your senses are not at their peak and you feel like sh.t. The problem with that is it does catch up with you eventually and you crash for a good day.

Some people use the negative experiences of others to be grateful for what they have which is great. I think we should also look to those who have turned negatives to positive experience and attitude as an indicator of what is possible.

The survivor mentality is much better than victimhood. But that may be easier said than done.

I would predict it is much harder in the long-term to be a continual victim that a survivor. The short term process to deal might be painful but the long term ramifications of dealing with it well is much less so.

@tarazkp It's really a painful when you faced unexpected disaster things in your Life but the plus point is you Learn something new from it! So keep going and learning!

It is true that there will be scars when wounds heal. However, being grateful for being alive will help you to move on.

Sometimes these hardships make us the person we are if today I think about others or respect their feelings love them it's just because of my sufferings I can't let them feel what I felt

Bad time comes for everyone but what really matters here is how we react towards the situstion - attitude.

The best is to be positive and learn from the experience.

Its some type of mushrooms
