टिळकांचा कायद्याचा अभ्यास
२२ जुलै १९०८. न्यायालयाबाहेर प्रचंड गर्दी. रात्रीचे १० वाजलेले. न्यायमूर्ती दावर यांनी टिळकांना शिक्षा देण्यापूर्वी काही सांगावयाचे आहे का? असे टिळकांना विचारले. टिळक उद्‌गारले, ज्युरीने मला दोषी ठरविले तर खुशाल ठरवो; पण मी गुन्हेगार नाही. लौकिक गोष्टींचे नियंत्रण करणारी एक शक्ती न्यायपीठाहून वरिष्ठ आहे. कदाचित ईश्वराची इच्छाच असेल की शिक्षा भोगल्यानेच मी अंगीकारलेल्या कार्याला ऊर्जित दिशा यावी. टिळकांच्या या धीरोदात्त उद्‌गाराची शिला ज्या मुंबई हायकोर्टात त्यांना काळ्या पाण्याची शिक्षा झाली, त्याच हायकोर्टात सन्मानाने लावली गेली.
आकाश जरी माझ्यावर कोसळले, तरी त्यावर पाय देऊन मी उभा राहीन.
याच भूमिकेतून टिळकांनी बुद्धिमत्ता आणि वकिली ज्ञान ब्रिटिश साम्राज्याविरुद्ध वापरून स्वातंत्र्यलढा अधिक व्यापक केला.
@markchu i appreciate your effort of remembering the national personalities of india who fought for the independence.
