Time Quotes

in #time6 years ago (edited)

Time, they say, is relative. It's value and importance differs from person to person. Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines it as "the measured or measurable period during which an action, process or condition exists or continues." Wikipedia offers its own definition which is "a dimension in which events can be ordered from the past through the present into the future, and also the measure of durations of events and the intervals between them."

The image above is a quote from Erma Bombeck in November 17, 1971 about Time. That would make it 48 years old by the 17th of next month. Yet, it remains so relevant and true to this day. I guess some things just do not change. In this post, I will not expound on the philosophy, the dimensions, and the concepts of time. I am not a physicist nor a philosopher so I do not think I am in a position to do so. In this post, I thought of matching some quotes about time and their authors for each of the items Ms. Bombeck mentioned. I wanted this to be a little light instead of coming on too seriously so we can all have some fun read. Ready?

"Time hangs heavy for the bored." Here's a quote which I think would aptly describe this:

There's never enough time to do all the nothing you want. ~ Bill Watterson

"Eludes the busy." This one can do justice to this:

How did it get so late so soon? It's night before it's afternoon. December is here before it's June. My goodness how the time has flewn. How did it get so late so soon? ~ Dr. Seuss

"Flies by for the young." How about this quote to do justice to this:

There is a time for work and a time for love. That leaves no other time. ~ Coco Chanel

"And runs out for the aged." This quote is perfect for this:

Time is a great teacher, but unfortunately it kills all its pupils. ~ Hector Louis Berlioz

Enjoyed yourselves? Hope you did as much as I had fun doing this short post. As a parting shot, here is a quote I think is so funny yet so true:

Time is a great healer, but a poor beautician. ~ Lucille S. Harper

Weekend is just around the corner! Hope you all have a blessed one.

Hey guys, thanks for your support and encouragement. I am honored that you have voted my post as a part of eSteem encouragement program. Since my son installed eSteem in my desktop I have been using it regularly. Your format has improved so much that I find so many useful things in the setup. Thanks for all your efforts.

Please excuse me if I do not join your discord group. It's not that I do not want to but is more of a question of time. I have so much to do that just composing and posting an article is about as much time as I can spare in Steemit. Anyway, thanks for the invite and should my schedule allow it I will most definitely join the group.

Meanwhile thanks again for your concern and assistance to us minnows. Your group truly deserves to be extolled and emulated throughout Steemit. May you only find success in this platform.

God bless you all.

Here is one of my favorite quotes about time.

Now that deserves a curie upvote! Make sure it's got bacon in it too. Yum yum yummy. Pure love in my tummy.

Bacon cheeseburgers are the best!

The Cheese! How could I have missed out on that? It's got to have cheese too.

Lol, I will overlook your lapse of judgment, this time.
