The Sunday Recap - Down the Rabbit Hole 15steemCreated with Sketch.

in #timm5 years ago (edited)

While the price of Bitcoin continues to flatline the crypto space is anything but static. This week, Ari Paul reconsiders the assumptions underlying the pace of coming institutional investment. The Bitcoin maximalist among BTC maximalists, Murad Mahmudov issues a short-term bearish forecast. EOS gets the stamp of approval from Pantera Capital and decentralisation proves a far more complex endeavour than often portrayed.

As always, the posts are selected for the interest and thoughtful perspectives they offer. I don't necessarily agree with each and every one of them.

I hope this week's journey down the rabbit hole was worth the rummage. Looking back on the week past, I find it very helpful to reflect on all that's actually happening rather than to simply reflexively focus on price. As always, I look forward to your comments, reflections, and critiques.

Note on Sources:

Twitter & Reddit (cryptos current meta-brains) / Medium / Trybe / Hackernoon / Whaleshares / TIMM and so on/ YouTube / various podcasts and whatever else I stumble upon. The aim is a useful weekly aggregator of ideas rather than news. Though I try to keep the sources current – I’ll reference these articles and podcasts etc. as I encounter them – they may have been published just a couple of days ago or in some cases quite a bit earlier

That cover photo is beautiful! I would kill for a library like that of my own!

With reference to the last two videos: NEO has certainly been hit hard by the bears, but that really has no bearing on the platform itself. I was not really impressed by the video, which seemed to blow hot and cold in a non-committal fashion. Mark my words: NEO will grow to dominate the cryptoverse. Just wait...

It's good to see OmiseGo getting some attention again. A few hours ago I happened to be catching up on it myself (because it has been so quiet). My opinion is that it is flying under the radar, there is definitely a lot happening there - at a slow and steady pace. OmiseGo is the tortoise in the hare and tortoise story.

Thanks for the feedback Bit Brain. Yes, I'm reasonably bullish on NEO myself - it's one of my primary holdings and I like the recent pivot towards gaming. OMG is another investment I've held a long time as the potential upside is still attractive (and more so as Ethereum dev stalls)- they needed to improve their communication channels though(as did Neo).

Quite so, OMGs communication isn't terrible, it's non-existent!
