Every day provides us with opportunities to celebrate. Today I invite you to celebrate gardening and the benefits we reap from it. Gardening is a physical activity, so stretching before can help prepare you to get your hand dirty! Additionally, how you approach your gardening tasks, can be turned into a workout.

Garden Workout

Without a doubt,
gardening is a workout.

When till the soil,
you will toil.

Work your arm muscles,
by digging with your shovel.

Get done on your knees,
and pull some weeds,

engage your core,
stretch for more.

Do some squats,
when planting from pots.

Be sure to stretch,
before you fetch,

Heavy bags of mulch,
to avoid saying ouch!

Did you know,
you get mild cardio,

when you rake.
That I’ll take!

You take extra steps,
and work up a sweat,

increasing your brawn,
as you mow the lawn.

Grab your garden hoe,
help muscle and plants grow!
