Top Ten Everything 2013

in #topten6 years ago (edited)

What are your top ten everything of 2013, your favorite moments, memories, or anything, of that year? Let me know in the comments, below. Here are some of mine, as follows:

10. Why Not?

Favorite 2013 music videos include Robin Thicke - Blurred Lines, Will I Am, Britney Spears - Scream & Shout & Let It All Out, Eminem - Rap God. Katy Perry - Roar. My favorite might be Miley Cyrus - We Can't Stop - and acceleration and momentum demands that, speed, force, fire, in revolutions, in relationships, locally, globally, in so many ways, that is humanity, and emotionalism awakens a root in our souls to fight for what really matters in our lives found deep inside our conviction, our conscience. Also, we sometimes must be a Wrecking Ball as well. Good to laugh. Good to smile. Good to spread it all around. Don't give people fish. Teach them how to fish.

09. Pause

Mandisa - Overcomer. Pitbull - Feel This Moment ft. Christina Aguilera - it is good to relax in life at times in order to gain more perspective, appreciation, reflection, in life. We can wait but live life, listen but love life, love but love love, and fight but live love. Mandisa is amazing. You are an overcomer. Staying in the fight to the final round. You may be down for a moment but that is when you are reminded that you can rise back up with help.

08. Skater Girls

Avril Lavigne - Here's to Never Growing Up - Avril reminds me of Tiffany Cumbo, a girl I knew growing up who played guitar, skateboarded, was into punk music, like Avril. We all can adopt the Peter Pan syndrome. Why should we grow up, emotionally? In some cases, some kids are more grown up than adults. There are good and bad sides to being an adult and in being a kid. On one hand, don't be too childish. On the other hand, don't become too fatalistic as adults can become. Avril Lavigne was born in 1984, September 27th. Joey Arnold, 1985, February 11. Tiffany Cumbo, 1986, December 2nd.

07. Psy - Gentleman

Do as I say and not as I do. This song, Gentleman, is an example of that Great Ironic Idiom. Do to others as you would like to be treated says the golden rule derived from eternal, objective, principles, foundations, over emotionalism.

06. Super Mario 3D World

Favorite 2013 games include Dead Space 3, Sim City, and Super Mario 3D World. Love the futuristic sci-fi plot in Dead Space but am also a sucker for Mario Bros games. Since 1995, been a Sim City architect.

05. Let It Shine

Ellie Goulding - Burn - we got this fire and we are going to let it burn, burn, burn. We don't want to leave. We want to be right now. Italy is seeking after this fire. People in America seek after this fire. The fire comes from somewhere. There is purpose and meaning to life and the fire calls us towards that purpose. Cimorelli - Made In America.

04. Frozen

Favorite 2013 films include Man of Steel (Superman), Monsters University, Thor - Dark World, The Great Gatsby, The Hobbit - The Desolation of Smaug, Fast & Furious 6, White House Down, The Lone Ranger with Johnny Depp, Anchor Man 2, Star Trek Into Darkness, After Earth with Will Smith, Now You Can See Me, Saving Mr. Banks with Tom Hanks. But my favorite 2013 movie might be Frozen. My students loved that song, Let It Go, and it is fun to sing. Ironically in 2009, I wrote a song called Never Let Go. Well, sometimes, you got to hold on and sometimes you got to move on and drop it. Yeah, drop it like it is hot. Like a hot potato. There is a time for this and a time for that said King Solomon, thousands of years ago. Perspective, principles, and wisdom, can help guide us, if they are and if we are rooted deep enough in eternal, universal, objectivity over subjectivity. We live in a news War.

03. Breaking Bad: 2008-2013

Some of my favorite 2013 television shows include the Goldbergs, a 1980's based family sitcom, Dexter, Rick & Morty which premiered in December of 2013, The Walking Dead, Hannibal, Game of Thrones, Star Wars - The Clone Wars, and Breaking Bad, to name a few. Chemistry is the study of transformation said Walter White. He went from being a chem teacher to a Meth cook. Why? Because he wanted to make a lot of money to give to his family before he dies of cancer. There are natural remedies to cancer. You can recover from cancer. People do recover from cancer. We all have cancer. What is cancer? It is simple, you have cancer when your cells are doing the wrong thing which happens every second in each person. Which wrong things? When you cells split too much, too slowly, when it grows too big, too small, when it lacks certain things, when it includes things that does not belong in the specific cells, that is cancer. That is happening each second, each hour, in our bodies. But our body has an immune system that auto-corrects those mistakes. The best way to fight cancer is to be healthy.

02. Dexter

This television show, Dexter, 2006-2013, was focused on Dexter Morgan, who was addicted to murdering as a kid. Spoiler alert, for 8 seasons, we follow his evolution. This reminds me of that other show, Hannibal, 2013-2015, which begins with Jack recruiting Will to go after Hannibal the Cannibal. Yeah, like Dexter, Hannibal murdered, but unlike Dexter, Hannibal ate his prey. Jack was played by that black guy who was Morpheus in the Matrix films. We all have a Dark Passenger inside each one of us just like Dexter. We can all be Dexter in good and bad ways. Dexter killed murderers who went through the cracks of the already corrupt justice system in America which has been infiltrated by the league of nations, by control freaks, by Rothschild, Soros, and we should try to #FreeTommy and we should talk about the #InformationWar and pay it forward. The first season is focused on Dexter and his brother. In some ways, Dexter was like Batman. But like The Walking Dead, they try to say that killing bad people is bad. But I disagree. You have to kill. Justice must be served, Judge Drudge.

01. Ylvis - The Fox

What Does The Fox Say? In one of my classes, my students loved that fox song in Saigon, Vietnam (VN). For that one class, my students were around the age of ten and they were pretty fluent in English and Vietnamese. Class was held in a house of a Vietnamese English Teacher and sometimes at the neighbor's house. Was in VN from Thursday, the 29th of November of 2012 until Thursday, the 23rd of November, 2017. So, 2013 was my first full year in Vietnam, first, in the north, in cities and provinces like Hà Nội, Tỉnh Bắc Ninh, Hòa Bình, and then I moved to Saigon on Sunday evening, about 6 PM their time, on the tenth of February of 2013 a day before my 28th birthday. During my five years in Vietnam, I taught English at schools, centers, houses, coffee shops, parks, sometimes online, mostly offline, to children, adults, and the class sizes ranged from 1 to over 30 depending on the class. Mostly taught conversation English because they generally learn grammar and how to write in high school and in college and some of them are self-taught. I would bring music videos and movies to classes at times to help them practice listening and then we would talk about it. What does the fox say? Better yet, what does the American say?
