It seemed like I was posting one of these up every few days a few weeks back, but the past week or two have been a bit dry as far as collection buying goes. I did have a couple that came in yesterday that said they have around 8 long boxes of comics from the 80’s and 90’s that they were going to bring in but I won’t hold my breath. She said she also called us a couple years ago asking the same thing and “has not gotten around to it yet”. Years...

Anyway, today a small Funko Pop collection walked into our shop. The same story as usual. Seller wants to get rid of them but does not want to do any work. Those are our kinds of collections. We are always honest and explain that for the kinds of pieces that are in the lot, we typically do not pay much and that they would be better off financially putting in the work to pop em up online. No go...fine by us. Depending on the day and what’s there, we usually aim to pay in the $4-$6 dollar range if it’s commons/cheaper exclusives. They just come in too often to pay more than that.

This particular collection is 28 pieces in total. 27 Pops and one very meltable Dorbz of Stan Lee. I like Lee...but hate Dorbz. Anyway, we settled on a price of $150 bucks cash which breaks down to $5.35 a piece. Right in line with where we usually look to be at.

This collection is nothing to write home about. A sprinkling of regular release pieces and cheaper/more affordable exclusives, but the key to this one was that we were out of a good majority of those exclusives. Some pieces from Overwatch, Dragonball Z, Spider-Man, WWE, and Naruto. All lines that are popular. We need all of them so it helps stock the shop on “new” merch. for an affordable price for us.

The Gold Soldier 76 typically runs between $75-$100 bucks alone. The Silver Reaper is about $45, the Gold Shenron is around the $40-$45 range. While most of the others will move in the $20-$30 range. If we were to move all of them, I’d guess it would bring in around $650-$750. Not enough to retire on but enough to make the buy a smart one.
