Caddeden sokaklara doğru sesler elendi,
Pencereler kapandı, kapılar sürmelendi.
Bir kömür dumanıyle tütsülendi akşamlar,
Gurbete düşmüşlerin başına çöktü damlar…
Son yolcunun gömüldü yolda son adımları,
Bekçi sert bir vuruşla kırdı kaldırımları.
Mezarda ölü gibi yalnız kaldım odamda:
Yanan alnım duvarda, sönen gözlerim camda,
Yuvamı çiçekledim, sen bir meleksin diye,
Yollarını bekledim görüneceksin diye.
Senin için kandiller tutuştu kendisinden,
Resmine sürme çektim kandillerin isinden.
Saksıda incilendi yapraklar senin için,
Söylendi gelmez diye uzaklar senin için…
Saatler saatleri vurdu çelik sesiyle,
Saatler son gecemin geçti cenazesiyle,
Nihayet ben ağlarken toprağın yüzü güldü,
Sokaklardan caddeye doğru sesler döküldü…
