Aksakallı Macar Profesör Antal Réthly Efendi - Bölüm 3
Profesör Antal Réthly . Türkiye'deki son yolculuğunda Karadeniz Bölgesi'ne ve Doğu Anadolu Bölgesi'nin kuzeyine gitmiştir. Henüz yolculuğun başında Zonguldak ve Sinop illerinde çalışmalar yürütürken içinde araştırmalarının bulunduğu çantasını kaybeder. Ancak aksilikler bununla sınırlı kalmaz. Sinop'tan kara yolu ile Karadeniz sahillerini dolaşmış, Samsun, Trabzon ve Rize'ye uğrar.
Can Sıkıcı Hadiseler
Trabzon'da can sıkıcı üç hadise yaşanır. Profesör Antal Réthly Trabzon incelemelerde bulunurken limanda görevli polisler tarafından tutuklanır. Bilim adamı olduğunu söylemesi ve İçişleri Bakanlığı tarafından verilen yazılı araştırma iznini göstermesine rağmen salıverilmez. Tutuklama işlemini yapan polis:
'Buralardan sorumlu görevli benim, beyefendinin casus olduğu anlaşılırsa bunun cezasını Bakan Bey değil, ben çekerim.'
diyerek bölgede çalışmaların ve araştırmalarını durmasına neden olmuştur.
Profesör Antal Réthly Bir başka hadisede de öğretmenleri anlayamadığından bahseder. Tarım öğretmenlerinden yakınan Profesör, tarımı yakından ilgilendirdiği halde tarım öğretmenlerinin gözlem ve ölçüm yapmak istememelerine bir anlam veremediğini her seferinde dile getirir.
Ayrıca kendisi Erzurum ilinde iken, Trabzon ve Rize illerinde kendi elleriyle kurduğu gözlem istasyonlarındaki teçhizatların bürokratik işlemlerin gecikmesinden dolayı sökülmesi Profesör Antal Réthly'i çok üzer. Erzurum'dan geri dönerken Rize'ye ve Trabzon'a uğrayıp sökülen teçhizatları tekrardan monte etmek ve çalışır hale getirmek yine kendisine düşer.
Karadeniz yolculuğu boyunca sıkıntıların ardı arkası kesilmez ve yolcuğunun sonlarına doğru önce ödenek ardından da kendi parası biter. Görevliler vasıtasıyla devletten avans alarak yolculuğunu bitirir.
Türkiye'de bulunduğu iki senelik süre içinde yirmi beş tanesi bizzat, toplamda ise yetmiş altı adet tesis kurar. Atatürk Profesör Antal Réthly'i başarılı çalışmalarından dolayı yüksek devlet nişanı ile ödüllendirmiştir. Kendisine verilen görevi yerine getirmenin gururu ile 30 Ekim 1927'de ülkesine döner. Profesör Antal Réthly'e 1929 yılında 5 yıllık yeni bir sözleşme teklif edilir. Ancak,
'Öneriyi maalesef kabul edemedim. Türk Halkını fevkalade sevmeme rağmen ana yurdumda kalmak zorunda hissediyorum.'
diyerek teklifi geri çevirmiştir.
