Back to the future part 38 - My travels - Muay Thai, Bangkok

A look back through my travel photos from before Steemit

You would'nt mess with these two guys in Bangkok - They were promoting a Muay Thai fight in Bangkok.

Muay Thai is a really popular sport in Thailand and is very similar to other combat sports from South East Asia - including Muay Lao in Laos, Lethwei in Myanmar, Pradal Serey in Cambodia and Tomoi in Malaysia. It is sometimes called Thai boxing and it is a mix of stand up striking (kicking and punching), as well as grappling. It allows the use of fists, elbows, knees and shins and can be quite gruesome.

It was on our list of things to do in Bangkok, but we never made it to a fight in the end, and this picture of the two lads was as close as we came.

I guess this gives us an excuse to go back! :o)

I traveled around South East Asia and Australia back in 2007/2008 with my then girlfriend/now wife.

It was a trip of a lifetime and I loved every minute of it.

I am going to upload a photo every day.

I'll upload another one tomorrow.

Peace Out
