Thailand 2018 - Muay Thai Travel Blog #03 [Ayutthaya Historical Park]
Our second day in Thailand we decided to travel north about 80 kilomtres to what was once the capital of Siam, Ayutthaya.
The ruins of the old city are preserved and this location specifically is known as Ayutthaya Historical Park. Hope you enjoy the photos!
Ayutthaya is a city in Thailand, about 80 kilometers north of Bangkok. It was capital of the Kingdom of Siam, and a prosperous international trading port, from 1350 until razed by the Burmese in 1767. The ruins of the old city now form the Ayutthaya Historical Park, an archaeological site that contains palaces, Buddhist temples, monasteries and statues. Today [Monday] we begin training, we'll be heading to the gym after breakfast to get ourselves familiar and kick things off with a morning workout. Kru Matt and I will also be getting some new digs today, most likely a condo rental within close proximity to the gym. WiFi and data connection may be sketchy until we get setup, so ciao for now!

Haha this part of the country is spectacular that's for sure! So far so good but really just getting started👍🏼I haven't been on a decent trip or even taken a couple straight weeks off work in years, so it's long over due 😁

There's been talk of finding a place to watch the fights (UFC 125). Only issue is that's like 9:00 am here Sunday morning..lol!

The main card started 4:00 am here in the UK! Lol, did you end up watching it, what did you think?
Watched the Covington fight and the Whittaker fight, was played free on Fox last night on the hotel room cable. Thought both of those were fun fights to watch, Whittaker fight got crazy good. I had Yoel winning 3,4,5 But I guess Whittaker had more strikes in one of those rounds, maybe the 3rd before his hand was too destroyed.. what did you think of the match..? I probably won't be able to see the rest of the card until I'm back in Canada later this month. Maybe I can find something online tho..

The Whittaker/Romero fight was some sweaty palms shit! I'd love to see them go at it a third time, I had Whittaker for the first three I think, but based on the new scoring system and that 10-8 controversy, I wouldn't argue against Romero taking it either, you know what, call it a draw! I think Whittaker actually fucked his hand in the first, it was a great fight man, loved it! Decent card all round.

Chang Mai is Great, and Pai was the most relaxing and the cheapest by far !!
Studying Muay Thai aye... right on, you'll be able to kick the Shin outta somebody !! LOL .. but seriously i know it's a real martial art and a discipline... Just be Careful while you're in country.. be polite all that jazz... Read that book (can't remember the name off hand) but it's a locked up abroad kind of horror story. I'm not trying to scare you brother.. Just behave yourself, be nice to the ladies etc. etc. i honestly wouldn't want you to get in trouble; it's even worse than an American Prison, and that's saying a lot.. OK. enough doom n gloom... Eye of the Tiger Brother !! Speaking of Tiger's you gotta get your picture taken with a Tiger while you're there... Makes a nice souvenir.
