We had an off day from training last Thursday, always good to let the body rest when you've been training hard, twice a day. We used this time to travel down to one of Bangkok's finest temples, Wat Arun.

The weather was decent so we made our way downtown for the first time. Taxi'd from our hotel to the subway, figured out which train to catch and how much it cost. Once we got out of the subway we were immediately approached by a Tuk Tuk driver that of course wanted to help us figure out where we wanted to go and offered to take us there.

We were down for the random adventure and asked him to bring us to a canal boat tour, which turned out to be a pretty great experience. We bought the biggest tour they had, and it was just me and my training partner Kru Matt and the entire "motorized canoe" to ourselves. It was literally a wooden canoe with a truck engine on the back! We drove through the main river and down all the side canals, it was eye opening. Sorry no pictures of the canal on my phone, so maybe in a future post. However I took a few photo's at Wat Arun, enjoy!

First here is some information about Wat Arun from Wikipedia:

The temple derives its name from the Hindu god Aruna,[1] often personified as the radiations of the rising sun. Wat Arun is among the best known of Thailand's landmarks and the first light of the morning reflects off the surface of the temple with pearly iridescence.[2] Although the temple had existed since at least the seventeenth century, its distinctive prang (spires) were built in the early nineteenth century during the reign of King Rama II.

HAHA!
Looks like you are having a great time. Keep it up.

Haha nice! Ya we're having good fun on off days, training hard doing twice a days during the week. The gym is great, I'll share a bit about the gym and who we are training with at some point 😁 Half the battle of training in Thailand is the heat, it's 35 Celsius in the Gym almost everyday plus humidity 🤣.

You ask and you shall receive, I'll have my friend send me his canal pics, he has tons, it's worth it's own post..!
