Cobblestone streets at San Pedro del Rio 🏡🎎🌲

Five months ago I made a post about a trip I did to Táchira state in 2014, in there I showed you my favorite pics from that trip, but they were just the ones about my first time camping. Now I'll show you the pics of a visit we did to a typical colonial town that was nearby, visited by many tourists, has some peculiar characteristics and cobblestone streets!

The church of San Pedro del Río.

San Pedro del Río is a typical colonial town that is located north of San Cristobal (the capital city os Táchira state), between Colón and Lobatera; as you'll see on the pics this old town has cobblestone streets which make it, in my opinion, a pretty interesting and beautiful place, but another interesting characteristic of this city is that almost all the houses in each side of the streetsare painted identically, they are white with blue, brown or green on the doors and windows frames, and this gives you an awesome aesthetic pleasure.

My friends and I spent this day walking through this town admiring the houses that, as you see, are colonial style. The streets are little and with that typical fresh weatherof Táchira we didn't mind walking on them.

This is a pretty colourful town, despite the houses are white with blue, or white with brown, it is still pretty colourful thanks to the overall ornamentation and nature it has, but also the cleanliness that remains.

We found this store of souvenirs in one of the extremes of the town, this part is called "El paseo Chirirí" and there are only little stores like this, of souvenirs and crafts.

The white and brown houses.

Many of these houses were restaurants, little stores of traditional desserts, souvenirs and crafts. Do you see the cobblestone street?

This was a restaurant whose name means "the house of the grandparents", and I found so cool that little "Visa" ad that I couldn't help taking a pic of it.

There were some buses in the streets that came full of tourists from other cities, not part of the public transportation.

But we didn't eat! hahah it was still early in the morning and there weren't many people inside. So I just took photos of that window and the mesmerizing stairs.

Now, at noon and afternoon the town got a little bit crowded, there were many cars and people in the streets, and the stores were full of people buying souvenirs and stuff.

The square is located right in front of the church and it's the main place of gathering in this town.

And the name of this square, as usual in every town of this country, is Plaza Bolívar.

The little ads 📌

What I liked the most was how clean the whole town was and that it was so important for them that they made ads like these:

"The one who is here doesn't sweep, the one who sweeps is not here; as you are not the one who sweeps, throw your garbage here."

"I am a pine! Take care of me."

There were some little eco-friendly ads like this all around the town and they just added so much beauty and personality to this town.

This is really a beautiful town, a really nice place to go visit with your family, to spend a nice day eating traditional desserts in some restaurant and buying souvenirs. My friends and I spent the day just walking on the streets and ejoying the visual harmony it gave us, a really unforgettable town you should visit if you stop by the Táchira state in Venezuela.
