Long exposure at Cataratas del Hueque 🌄💧🌿

in #travel5 years ago (edited)

I made a trip to a touristic place called "Cataratas del Hueque" which means "Hueque Waterfalls" at the end of 2013, I even made a post about a nice stop we did on another touristic place during this trip, and after 2 hours on the road we finally arrived to this place.

These waterfalls are located in the Juan Crisóstomo Falcón National Park that is inside of the Sierra de Falcón, and are commonly visited during weekends and holidays; here in the park you can bathe in the waterfalls, observe nature, do activities such as hiking, sightseeing, and take some pictures as I did that day (I didn't bathe because the water is TOO cold hehe)

Cataratas de Hueque

I took this pic right after we arrived to the place, this is the first waterfall you find but there are some more if you keep walking and they are like 5 meters tall aproximately. This was the first time I visited some waterfalls having a proper camera with me, and I had seen these long exposure waterfall/river photos and I just thought this was a nice opportunity to try it to see what I get. So this was my first long exposure pic:

Cataratas del Hueque

Something I really liked about that place that day was the fact that there weren't many people in there hahah and I really like taking pics of nature when there's no one near, just as in the stop we previously did I got pics without people here!

When we found a spot to put our bags and stuff I just sat and started taking pictures, and the spot we were in, that little space, was so cute to me that I couldn't help taking pics of it. As you se above on the left there are some little stairs for people to get into the waters.

Most of the time we were there I was just focused on getting decent pics, and trying to avoid the people who were bathing to appear in the pics. This is still long exposure but not so "long", though I kinda liked the result, now here below we have the real long exposure version:

I love these little "curtains" I got here, and how misty they look!

Little waterfall over the river flow!

I love how I could "freeze" the water here, I think I got an interesting result that I really enjoy to watch, this is one of my favorite pics from this trip. And above in the middle you see can see a man that was bathing with his orange-yellow-blue shorts.

Now this is my favorite from all of them, I loved this view and how beautiful the waterfall looks.

We were there like two or three hours while my uncle and cousins were bathing with that incredibly cold water, and I was just enjoying the environment and practicing my long exposure skills, afterwards we went to another uncle's house to stay the night there since it was already the afternoon when we got to the waterfalls and my uncle didn't want to drive 2.5 hours again because he was kind of tired heheh

Thankyou very much for watching and reading! Tell what you think about these shots please! :D

Greetings!

I know exactly what you mean about waiting for people to move out the way so you can get a picture! I do that all the time, often means I get left behind but I don't want people in pictures haha :) Looks like you got some great long exposure shots there and love what it does to the water. Makes it look like a veil, covering the rocks beneath in a silky blanket :)

Thanks for sharing!

Heeey Nick! I didn't see this jesus! Yeah, I don't even like people in general xD hahah and I like that description, it's better, it's like a veil or a silky blanket :) heheh thank you very much for your comment and passing by! :)

Hahaha "don't like people in general" I agree with you to an extent, depends on the people but yea, sometimes they are a pain in the butt when trying to enjoy natural scenery 😂
