An abandoned mall
Hello,
Yesterday I had to pick up the passport of my kid.
The passport office is located in an abandoned mall.
Yes, almost abandoned as there is a post office, the passport office and the license plate office of the city.
It is strange to go to such a big building without encountering people. Well without those in the offices.
It is interesting to see how city and development planning errors have brought to such an error.
Some have left their stuff behind like this karate training hall. In Romania most youngsters do some kind of fighting sport, or at least did when I was young.
Most toilets are not functioning anymore as they have been filled with stuff.
Even massage chairs have been left behind.
Or bars...
In the 30 years since communist felt, the retail real estate market has been the one that changed the most. It is much more evolved than the one in western Europe and something close to the one in the Emirates where this spaces are smaller cities where one can do almost anything.
In this learning process a lot of errors have been made, like this abandoned mall.
I should give you a tour of the mall in Timisoara which develops now in a real business centre.

Oh crap, this is so unsettling. There are loads of malls and even apartment buildings like this in China.
Yes, China in the middle of nowhere where economy is planned. Here is only a major screw up by some investors.

Oh man, this is bizarre! I haven't seen an abandoned mall before... Where is it from? What city?
In Arad, on the famous street where 10 years ago 10 malls have been planned on a 5 km distance. Only one survived, the one closest to the city centre. This one is only kept in this vegetative state by the government.
