Hi steemit friends, how've you been? I might have been in a little bit of so-called steemdip these last few days after seeing some posts on here.., but I suppose I'll just keep steemin' anyway : )
I was in York, England, just for a few days. This time I only had a short time, so I chose to stay in the hotel in the city centre called The Grand Hotel & Spa York.

It is one of the 5 star hotels within York. The iconic building is a characteristic Edwardian style, I'd say very traditional English. The service was pleasant with a friendly Yorkshire manner.
I found an interesting thing in my wardrobe..... umbrellas! or brollies as the English call it.
Please feel free to use this umbrella whilst staying with us and thank you for leaving it behind to be used by the next guest occupying this room. Should you wish to purchase one of our umbrellas, please contact reception. Umbrellas are priced at 25 £
How politely written - Basically it means 'Don't bloody steal our umbrellas!' This is so British. I love it. 😂
Oh by the way, I found this 'Alice in Wonderland' tea set in town, which I couldn't resist getting one for myself.
Delicious English scones from The Betty's (https://www.bettys.co.uk) and a perfect cup of Yorkshire tea in my new mug. Feeling so great to be back in England, even just for a few days.
Friendly people, Politeness, Tea, Scones - these are the best things in England!
I want an Alice and Wonderland tea set too!!! Sooo cute and the scone looks yummy. Hmmm, I am trying to recall any umbrellas in a hotel room closet, not sure, just having them offered at the Front Desk. That is sooo very british though!
I know! They are soooo cute, aren't they, how can we resist!! Which one would you choose - the light blue with Alice, dark blue one with the rabbit or the red one with the cat? I couldn't decide between Alice or Rabbit for a good 10 mins. lol I wish I could post one to you (they are fine bone china...) : DD

My dear @mdn, thank you!! Luckily I didn't have to use the umbrella as the weather was beautiful and sunny, but I found it very thoughtful and British : ) I realised how people are polite, nice and friendly in the UK especially when you just went there from a country full of angry people. Hehe!
Tea and scones are truly British! Like the Alice in Wonderland tea cups, great find!
Hi @loveself, thanks for your lovely comment! This Alice in Wonderland series, they had tea sets, tea towels, mugs, plates, etc etc.. I already had so many mugs...., but couldn't resist adding one! :D
