Pho Viet - Vietnamese Restaurant in Leipzig

Sadly, my quest to see "infinity War" on my evening off was not successful. I wasn't able to find an English language version one that was playing in close proximity to my hotel, and I didn't want to go too far away. So, I guess it will have to be a few more weeks and then I'll just do it when the kids are at school and daycare.

However, on the plus side, I found a really nice Vietnamese restaurant close to my hotel (near the Leipzig Hauptbahnhof). I was quite surprised to find a good Asian restaurant in Germany, often it can be a bit of a hit and miss affair with this sort of thing. I was craving rice or noodles, and a bit less on the heavy heavy meat dishes. Normally when I travelling, I enjoy eating out, but after a few days it just gets too much and I crave something simpler and less salty/oily.

Anyway, I found myself with a piece of fried duck breast with rice and noodles, and it was simple and unexpectedly tasty! Washed down with a mango-schorle, juice with carbonated water. Definitely a great end to a slightly disappointing day!

I was going to have a dessert, but in the end I wasn't able to fit anything else in (although, I did get an ice-cream on the way back to the hotel). But, before I left, I had to try a Vietnamese coffee, which I had read about on two different blogs (I can't remember which ones, sorry!) on Steemit! So, it is a slow drip coffee with sweet condensed milk, and it is completely amazing! I love it, and I think I might start to try to make it at home!

I can definitely recommend this restaurant (Pho Viet) when you are in Leipzig and wanting a change from the German meal fare! Not too expensive either!
