Housesit Number...we stopped counting / Housesit Nummer...wir haben aufgehört zu zählen
Two days ago we again moved into a new House to do our Job...Housesitting. We stopped counting the Housesits we´ve done but it must be something around the 30st Housesit.
While it can get quite exhausting sometimes to move from house to house and take care of so many different animals (mostly dogs) it´s still a lot of fun. Especially if you got such a great house and two lovely dogs. Ok, they are a bit goofy and drool a lot but they also entertain us.
Vor zwei Tagen zogen wir wieder in ein neues Haus, um unsere Arbeit zu erledigen. Wir haben aufgehört die Housesits zu zählen die wir gemacht haben, aber es muss so in etwa der 30. Housesit sein.
Obwohl es manchmal anstrengend werden kann, von Haus zu Haus zu ziehen und sich um so viele verschiedene Tiere (meistens Hunde) zu kümmern, macht es trotzdem viel Spaß. Vor allem, wenn man so ein tolles Haus und zwei tolle Hunde hat wie wir gerade. Ok, sie sind nicht die Klügsten und sabbern viel, aber sie unterhalten uns auch.

The dogs we´re taking care of are 2 Boxer called Roxy and Dougie. While most of the Housesits we have are quite easy this one is a bit challenging. These two dogs follow me on every single step I do. It was quite funny at the beginning but gets a bit annoying after 2 days and we still got 4 weeks to go! 🙃
Additionally Roxy had an eye surgery and needs to wear one of these annoying cones.
Anyway...we already love them both.
Die Hunde die wir betreuen sind 2 Boxer mit den Namen Roxy und Dougie. Während die meisten Housesits die wir haben, recht einfach sind, ist dieser eine kleine Herausforderung. Diese beiden Hunde folgen mir auf jedem einzelnen Schritt. Am Anfang war es ziemlich lustig, aber nach 2 Tagen wird es etwas nervig und wir haben noch 4 Wochen Zeit! 🙃
Zusätzlich hatte Roxy eine Augenoperation und muss einen dieser lästigen Halskrausen tragen.
Wie auch immer ... wir lieben beide schon.

The Pros and Cons
But it´s not always fun...especially if you need to walk the dogs even though it´s raining non stop and it´s flooded, like yesterday.
Aber es macht nicht immer Spaß ... vor allem, wenn man mit den Hunden spazieren gehen muss, obwohl es ununterbrochen regnet und es wie gestern überflutet ist.
Ok, so when it´s raining it´s not really fun outside, but as soon as the sun comes out again we can go over to the fun part of such a housesit. POOLTIME!!
While this is not a must for us it´s always nice to have one.
Another plus is that the owners of the house are surfers. I love surfing even though it´s not really good at the moment. But as soon as the surf improves I have a selection of around 7 Surfboards + my own board. This is something every surfer is dreaming of.
Ok, also wenn es regnet, macht es draußen nicht wirklich viel Spaß, aber sobald die Sonne wieder herauskommt, können wir zum lustigen Teil eines solchen Hauses übergehen. POOLZEIT!!
Auch wenn dies für uns kein Muss ist, ist es immer schön, einen zu haben.
Ein weiterer Pluspunkt ist, dass die Besitzer des Hauses Surfer sind. Ich liebe es zu surfen, auch wenn es momentan nicht besonders gut ist. Sobald sich die Bedingungen verbessern, habe ich eine Auswahl von rund 7 Surfbrettern + meinem eigenen Board. Davon träumt jeder Surfer.
BUT...it´s sunday and it´s still raining cats and dogs so we have to stay inside and enjoy the big living room and watch a movie.

ABER ... es ist Sonntag und es regnet immer noch Katzen und Hunde, also müssen wir drinnen bleiben und das große Wohnzimmer genießen und einen Film schauen.

ja ,ich auch :-) Hier in Sri Lanka gibt es eher nicht und für den film den wir gerade drehen ist das weniger Produktiv, da wir jeden Tag raus fahren um zu filmen und alle paar tage wieder woanders sind. Sonst wäre es eine super Sache für uns.
