This temple is more commonly known as Wat Khaek Silom. It is a temple of the Goddess Uma, who was the consort of Shiva.

SRI MAHA MARIAMMAN TEMPLE

The temple was built sometime around 1879 by a group of Indians who lived in Bangkok and purchased this land on Silom Road. It was first built as a small Sala (pavilion), however, after Indians from other regions in Bangkok began to give donations, then it grew it to what it is today.
