[YIYU in Korea #1] 1 Day Tour to Incheon : Not only the International airport to Seoul but also attractive chaotic city mixed with all east Asian culture!

in #travel6 years ago (edited)

Hello, Steemians!

I'm gonna write about nice places in Korea. If you come to Korea, maybe places I wrote would be extra-ordinary choice. I'm pretty sure that my series is better than Myeong-dong(명동), at least lol.

So, the first place is Incheon(인천). If you've been Seoul ever, you would remember the code "ICN". It's the code of the biggest international airport in Korea near Seoul. Actually it's not located in Seoul but in Incheon in the west side suburb of Seoul. Most tourists come to Seoul directly but if you are interested in the some unordinary spot then the old site of Incheon can be where you want.

There are 2 sites in Incheon - old village and port area vs. brand new modern city. I've never been in Songdo(송도), the newest rich town yet so I'm gonna talk about old area - Yeonan(연안) area, China town, Jayu park(자유 공원) and Shinpo market(신포 시장).

Incheon is such a chaotic city mixed with various culture. It's based off of the history of the city. But these Matryoshka are just from the closeness of the lord mayor of Incheon and Russia. And the funthing is, her face looks like Japanese anime style Lol

The biggest China Town in Korea

Every country have China town, of course. lol
Incheon has the biggest China Town in Korea. It's a historic port for its good location for trading. The town is made from mid 1800's: Choson period. Chinese in Qing dynasty moved and lived in Incheon.

This picture shows an interesting style of Incheon. The 2nd floor is built in Japanese style and there's a Chinese shop at the ground floor with a sign written by Korean. lol

Jayu Park with MacArthur's statue (자유 공원 with 맥아더 동상)

There was a big civil war, "Korea War". It's a terrible and sad history. American general MacArthur is well-known for his Incheon landing in 1950. It was a turning point of the war.

You can go to Sinpo Market 신포 시장 by walk from Jayu park. On the way to get the market, you can see some interesting objets by anonymous artists. Also there's Japanese style street. If you are interested in architecture, it should be the special experience since you can see Korean, Japanese and Chinese style all-in-one.

This old laundry is a good example of Japanese style. It's rooftop is very typical. Somehow I like this picture since there's an unexpected flying bird. (:

Frankly speaking, I'm not interested in a market or shopping. At all. But I had to visit there since there's a signature food of Incheon - Fried Chicken ball 닭강정 and an Empty Bread 공갈빵!! Oh... I love it so much... I'm so sorry that they don't have a branch in Seoul...

Food

Did you recognize that the font for "Food" is the biggest in this posting?! lol
20170616_203256.jpg

Yeah, this is it! Omg, it makes me smack my lip lol. There're several stores in the market, but I think that one is the best one.
(... Oh, can't I attach video file?)

See? There're 2 people inside the store making Gong-gal bread (공갈빵). It's called as an empty bread because,

20170616_203309.jpg

it seems like a big ball but there's nothing inside except a sweet layer. It takes a quite long time since it's made by human one by one. After off the oven, it has to be cooled since it's very hot. Breaking the bread is also fun! And then you have to do is just enjoying! :D

There are several Chinese restaurant in China town. And the best place I think is Kong-hwa-chun 공화춘. Korean style Chinese food is so cool that everyone love it. There are millions of Chinese restaurants in Korea but 공화춘 is something special. Their black-bean-sauce-noodle(Jajang myeon 짜장면) is amazing. It's sweet and delicious... Even they sell their food instant version. You can buy it at the store.

Timetable for your 1 day trip to Incheon

I stayed in Incheon from Friday night to Saturday afternoon. It was not that tough so if you have same amount of time, you will go more than me. This is my timetable. I put how long does each item take. All together it needs 7~8 hours including lunch time. It's perfect hrs for a day trip, isn't it? lol

Last, I add a tip: Sometimes buses in Incheon just pass the station. I had to get a bus to Gangnam in Seoul and I lost 2 buses! The interval each buses is 25 minutes.😂 I tried to report to bus company but I couldn't get a right number.

If you have any question, freely leave a message! :D

I love those too (: It was fantastic I felt like I'm at the another dimention haha

Which camera did you used or did you used your phone?

Most pictures in this post were taken by Galaxy S7. 2 were iPhone. I don't know about high tech functions so I just wait until the scene what I want is come lol

Thanks for the info. Didnt know samsung could make these kind of quality photos. I know iphones make great photos.

Hahaha I heard that the different is come from the philosophy of product; samsung try to make colors as similar as the real vs. apple makes as pretty & sensitive as possible. But it has been changing so now samsung camera is not that bad. Lately I took some using Note8 and it was cool. I'll post it someday (:

Yeah do that i want ro see the differences between those cameras. I used a samsung a7 camera and it was good for not moving objects. Now I have a ahuawei p10 plus and this phone is amazing and the camera too.

Sure, sooner or later. I had it in Spain, Hong-Kong and Macau so I should write about one of those places haha.
P10 is pretty good especially camera, I heard. Chinese brand is not that expensive but good functions. So did you make your post using it?

Those boats look stunning. I wish I could sail across beautiful South Korea. Also, I hope KIM JONG UN doesn't fire a nuclear bomb while sailing

@steemafia, Hahahaha yeah, good point!
I'm pretty sure it won't happen until I live. So come to Korea by boat (or by flight)! ;)
